CloakTeam is proud to present the first open public beta of our new PoSA Trustless/Anonymous payment system. PoSA3 is CloakCoin’s trustless and anonymous payment system, which forms the basis of future development and provides the underlying transaction system for the decentralized Cloak ‘One Market’ marketplace.
PoSA3 is at heart a decentralized, off-blockchain mixing service which allows users on the CloakCoin network to transmit Cloak anonymously to each other. It has been designed to ensure the mixing process is both trustless and anonymous. This ensure a user's Cloak coins are kept safe during transfer and that the sender and receiver cannot be tied or associated. Cloak coins are never transferred to an intermediate party during Cloaking, so coins remain safe. We have also worked hard to ensure the PoSA design rewards users who assist in Cloaking transfers and will continue to improve the process and further incentivize active participants. Anyone with Cloak coins can participate in Cloaking operations, which allows them to leave their wallet running in Staking/Cloaking mode to allow it to passively assist in Cloaking and earn significant rewards.
This PoSA3 Beta Test is intended to provide a means of testing the PoSA3 system with a number of users on the Cloak network. This will allow the Cloak Team to highlight any remaining issues with the stability of the client and ensure any bugs are fixed for the upcoming full release of PoSA3. The code for the PoSA system is functionally complete, so should prove to be a useful field test. It should be noted that Onion Routing for CloakShield is not active in this Beta and will be added for the next public release. The ability to determine the balance of an external address is also excluded for this release, but will likely be added for future releases.
This Beta Test will be carried out on CloakCoin TestNet #3. You will need a positive balance in order to participate in Cloaking tests. You can ask one of the Cloak team to send you some funds on Testnet or mine your own (using "setgenerate true" command to start mining, and "setgenerate false" to stop mining). Please be mindful of mining too many coins on the Testnet, as others will wish to mine small amounts too.
This release contains extra logging code which will output debug information to the debug.log text file. If you encounter any stability issues, please send a copy of your log file to the Cloak team so that we can analyze it for debugging purposes. It may also be prudent to delete/truncate your log file periodically as it is likely to increase in size over time due to the extra logging carried out by this release.
