From the AMA
56. How long is the swap deadline from CovalXCP to CovalERC20? Reason for question: Existing holders will think that if the deadline does not come indefinitely, no listing on new exchanges or an increase in new holders will take place. From an external perspective, there is a bad image that development is slow if the deadline is too long. I think it is necessary to decide a good expiration date and burn a certain number of burns.
I understand the concern about optics to holding swapping open indefinitely. We had not determined a date. If the general community thinks we should, then okay. ~throws a dart~ September 14, 2020. You heard it here first.
No more swaps after that date.
Sorry, I am an holder of Coval since 2018 and I have not swapped yet. Where is the announcement of an expiration date on the website!? I don't think that the 56. AMA statement is an adequate publication to expropriate owners of Coval (XCP-chain). And who decided this, one questioner and a dart?
Firstly, the swap tool wasn't online most of the time and not reachable without barriers. Secondly, if one transaction on the XCP-chain costs 0.0005 BTC, highly likely people with small amounts of Coval did not swap yet. But with an expiration date you just harm them twice, but why you do so?! Price will go up, if the project deliver - and as the AMA stated, there were many troubles to handle in the last years and months. But why to take the right of Coval investors to swap? Just becuase of new holders bla bla bla...? What makes new holders better than someone who bought 2018?
