Hi!

I'm not following the forum every day, so forgive me if my questions have already been addressed...
If I'm right, I recall one of the biggest problem with this kind of coin is the blockchain bloating.
How's development going on for this aspect?
There's no more mentions of it in the OP page.

I would also like to know what has been thought to address the spam problem.
I don't think that putting a fee would solve it.

Maybe we can use our time on this forum to do some brainstorming, rise in value will follow for sure.

Pavel, it would be nice if you kept us updated on what the coders are doing now and in which direction development is moving in regard to this and other issues.

Thanks a lot.
mass

I also asked those questions but never got an answers from Pavel...

I would also join and ask what the coders are doing now and what developments are planned.
Please keep us a little more informed about the plans for the future of CraigsCoin.

Don't get mad in 5 years when you have no coins to post classified ads on the go to decentralized classifieds app.

Lol,
That will be the day, huh? Grin

Once graphene chips take over silicone valley, I see it very doable - loading up the blockchain and posting ads on a smart phone on the go!
Heck, if you've got enough staking on your smart phone, maybe the lack of coins won't be an issue at all. And maybe by then, an ad will only cost 5000 "Crags" - fragment of a Craig (similar to satoshi).  Grin

I'm actually more eager to see quantum computers. Too bad they will probably destroy current gen of crypto algorithms since they would be able to brute force sha256 within hours.

Wow, someone just dumped ~200,000 CRAIG on bittrex at around 190 sat.

Who would dump almost 1% of the entire coin at such a cheap price.  I hope Pavel saw that order and snatched it up cause at that price it's a steal.

Nope never saw it. I don't pay attention to the market (sorry if that pissing anyone off - I never cared of price all that much and never will, not because I hate you, I just don't think that price is any of my concern. I bought back 5 BTC worth of coins and that's it).

This does not sound good for all those people who have traded and invested into your coin, especially to those who have bought at ICO price!

I know but I never promised that anyone will gain instant profits from the ICO (or profit at all for that matter - some projects simply fail). I see that many people never invested in my project but rather decided to gamble with price. In the end they payed much more than coin actually worth. And when they saw that it was not very good gamble they simply sold what they had with significant loss. If only those, who really interested in project invested in the ICO, price would be much much lower to start with - but that was never my call. If people invested less then price would me much more stable also.
IMO Craigs was artificially overpriced from the day 1 because of pure greed of some investors and inevitably price went down to the value that suits the coin and it's application. Of course I would love price to go up for a change but I really think it is not my concern to intervene with the market. As I always stated - I'm not manipulating market in any way. Every investor bought Craigs and now free to do with coins whatever one desire.

Any way we could get some sort of voting/pollling system set up with CraigCoin?

I don't exactly know how we could legitimately regulate responses yet - but hey, this is blockchain technology!!
Wouldn't it be cool if the blockchain could even update the tally on the votes casted - rather than just on the website link associated with the blockchain vote post?
Never to be deleted!

For example:https://altcoinherald.com/altcoin-polls/much-think-1-btc-will-worth-christmas-day-2014/

Even if the system was set up simple now, maybe as blockchain tech evolves, we'd already be there ready to create a better version on top of the existing!

Just throwing any ideas out that cross my head antenna.

Cheers all and good night!

Pavel,
the wallet was compiled for a 64 bit system only?
I get this error: "cannot execute binary file: Exec format error" on my 32bit Ubuntu.
Thanks.
mass

Sorry I saw you were asking this before and I was about to answer but something distracted me.
The answer is yes - you will have to rebuild wallet from source for your system.

Thank you Pavel.
I'll go through the pain of compiling the wallet, I don't want to keep the CRAIGs I am accumulating, on Trex!
Do you have anyone to refer to in case of errors or this thread is fine for tech questions?

I asked my coder to compile x86 wallet for you:

https://mega.co.nz/#!8MUUGLJD!jgUoxHD_EcVUPO0zKfvYRi3a_aGEmf9KVDrwXDL4zVc

whats wrong with Bittrex btw?

Great, thankyou! It started right away! ( which is something that doesn't happen very often)
Syncing the blockchain now, later I can test it myself.

Nothing wrong with Bittrex, but after Coinex, Mintpal etc... I prefer keeping coins on my own machine.
I do this only for coins I think are good and have a future.

Also, coins on an exchange don't stake Wink

Sure np!

I don't care if the public knows the ICO bitcoin addresses. Either way I'm in on this coin and want to support it.

It would be cool to monitor the funds though. Keep the devs on the best track. Give input on how the funds are being used. Review their development docs. I think working openly with the community on how the funds get used would lower costs. The community can review everything and give suggestions to improve the quality of work and/or lower costs.

I like the idea of buying back coins. This coin is cheap right now. I hope the devs have more than 90% of the BTC still. I think BTC is going up a lot so it's best to keep as many BTC as possible and not spend at a sub $1000 level.

I still do not understand why everyone is concerned about this. He got the bitcoins from the ICO, those are his to appropriate how he sees fit.

Besides, what if he cashed them all out because he saw bitcoin dropping in value? People would cry scam even if the money is in the form of fiat or another coin.

I don't care if Pavel used all of his ICO bitcoins to buy gummy bears and vodka, as long as he stays here for many, many months making progress on the website and wallets. He's here and we're getting updates and that's what matters.

I agree with you but the reason I wanna know is simply to know how much risk I'm taking and what fair value CraigsCoin has right now.  Those Bitcoins are basically the working capital and also provide a real [cash] value to the coin which few alts have.  It's a good thing to know but if Pavel doesn't want to at least give a ballpark figure then I'll respect that and assume I have to look at CRAIGScoin as a worst case very risky investment [hence the ridiculous sub 200 sat price].

Vlad,
He already did earlier. Supposedly bought about a million. That's a 3% bag!
You can do a search on it to see some of his responses.

I didn't see that and I've been reading this thread nearly daily.  I hope he didn't buy when the price was high.  Did Pavel say he would retire that 1 million coins?

He could also retire a portion and then use the rest to fund development when the price goes back up.  Very similar to what corporations do with stocks on some cases.

A lot can be done with 400 Bitcoins.  A lot.

Pavel, spend as little Bitcoin as possible for the next 60 days:  The Bitcoin ETF is imminent and Bitcoin should rocket to $10,000+ within mere months after the ETF license.  At that price any alt-coin with a few hundred Bitcoins will be in an incredibly strong position to accomplish just about anything.

Cheers!

Pavel, how would you feel about doing a coin BuyBack?

I just realized that at 200 Satoshi, all 30 million coins are worth only 60 Bitcoins.

You could easily buy back 5-10 million coins and permanently retire them.  That would do wonders for the credibility of the coin and the value of CraigsCoin as well.

I realize there's a lot of work that needs to be paid for as well; therefore, such a BuyBack program would need to take that into consideration.

Regards...

If you can find out the bitcoin addresses used in this ICO then you have your answer for the rest of time.
