How do I tell if my throne is actually working ? It says it started successfully, but the active amount is not counting up, it actually says my throne has been up for negative 3 minutes. Ill delete this post if it fixes itself, but seems strange.

Is there any sort of penalty for running a throne and then stopping it ?...
The only "penalty" is that you don't get paid while it isn't running.

And if it has an inconsistent connection to the network. Like turning on and off. It is less likely to get paid.

Wish someone would implement an easier way to run thrones in the GUI. Not that it is that hard, but it could be used as an opportunity to overall the wallet and make it look really nice.

The problem we have is that long terms Thrones will be providing compute services and it will become increasingly important that they are available 24/7 and on dedicated vps resources.

Having said that, there is no reason why we can't include some useful gui tools for setting up a throne.

We're putting effort into making it as easy as possible to run a throne.  We have refined the Ubuntu set up to one single command and have images available on Docker and AWS.  Lots more work to do though.

Is there any sort of penalty for running a throne and then stopping it ? I just ordered a dedicated laptop to run a throne and it wont come for a few days, so I thought I would run it on my current laptop until then. Do I just exit out of the wallet, or is there a command I need to use in order to stop a throne safely?

good idea really, easy thrones, with good graphics would give crwn a very needed edge over the competition

That'll be great. To do a full sync takes for ever. With this bootstrap it will sync in a few min

Which country are you in?  There is no reason for a full sync to take forever...maybe we can deploy a node to speed things up.
I believe Windows still has some issues with syncing. On behalf of a friend I'm posting this:

Quote
I can confirm it takes a lot of time and data on Windows x64 (SSD drive). With a 100mbit corporate fiber connection (Netherlands) it nearly downloaded 15-16GB of data and took ~6 hours to do so, while the data folder ended up being only 3,1GB? What happened to the 12-13GB of data that was downloaded? To me it doesn't matter as we don't have bandwidth limitations, but that doesn't go for everyone. Ofcourse, everyone can use Bootstrap but not everyone knows how to. This seems to be a serious bug in the wallet and needs to be addressed, just my 2 cents. Thank you. -B.

Scandinavia.

I didn't mean it literally "for ever". But ive noticed that others have waited ~24 hours go get a full sync, i dont know were they were located

We've been trying to fix that with DNS seeders on a country by country basis.  Will let you know what we find/do.
