Option A sounds like the best option!
Keep us updated, and keep up the good work!

I know this will sound like a banal update but we're making good progress this morning.

I'm 100% confident that were going to fix this in a way that everybody will agree with. I'm also aware that we are depending on the trust and good faith of the community right now. THANK YOU

We're currently making sure that our options analysis is solid whilst simultaneously preparing a release to perform a rollback if that is confirmed the best way to go.

We are also not discrediting a do nothing option. A do nothing option would be to settle on the chain that the miners and p2p has chosen, the chain that the vast majority of nodes is synced to. This will only be possible when we understand any potential losses to bittrex and the community and whether we can afford to compensate accordingly.

So, long story short, we have option A, B and C. We think option A is the most likely contender so we are coding that solution but we are also making double certain that B and C should be discounted.

Official Announcement

Situation:
Crown has experienced an unplanned hardfork December 26th, due to a lack of consensus between the network.
At that point in time, different mining pools had different beliefs about the chain-state and mined (forked into) according to their beliefs.
The issue is still under investigation, and we are working together with mining pools and Bittrex on a solution.

Action:
As things are sorted out, it is a possibility that a rollback will happen, and therefore it is best if all activity on the network is halted, until further notice on Bitcointalk/mattermost/Telegram.
Crown Trading on Bittrex is halted, and we would like to ask everyone to please not set up new nodes, send or mine Crown during this period!
Stance on the issue:

We're aware that longest chain with the most work usually wins. In this case we feel that no one user wanted to fork the network, and the fork was totally unplanned. We think that if everyone agrees, we should revert back to the chain before the fork happened.

Thank you for your patience

NODE DROPOUT & HASHING POWER UPDATE

It seems one of our miners experienced a bug related to the governance system between blocks 1683388-1683398. This caused an error in the Crown chain, which may have resolved itself under normal conditions. However, this bug coincided with ~200 new nodes being added to the network, creating a ripple effect where incorrect information is propagating throughout the network and some wallets/nodes get stuck on an old block.

While we are investigating this issue, transactions to and from bittrex have been halted and explorers appear to be on the wrong block.

We advise you not to submit any transactions until further notice. Furthermore, please refrain from adding new nodes to the network or committing hashing power until we know more about the state of the chain.

We will try to keep you updated as we go and will follow with a recommended course of action.

Thank you for your patience

UPDATE (CONT.)

We are currently awaiting a node that is on the correct chain and will provide us with a bootstrap/snapshot of that chain. Most likely this will be delivered by Bittrex - their automated wallet maintenance triggers should have kept them from forking to the wrong chain.

We would like to remind you that it is advised not to submit any transactions to the network until further notice - even if your wallet appears to be fully synchronised - it may have synced with the wrong chain!

Once we have the bootstrap and have confirmed its validity, we'll post a guide on how to reindex your wallet. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Once again, thank you for your patience.

My wallet no longer syncs anymore....

Deleted entire blockchain folder to restart, it doesn't sync at all or very slowly now. Pls fix.

Now the the issue has been tracked down, the devs are just getting a fix ready and making it sure it'll work properly. Hopefully not long now. In the meantime, don't rely on things looking like they synced. My wallet said it had finished a short time ago, but may need to re-sync once they have it all ready. For now, best just to close the wallet and sit and wait for official news. Shouldn't be long now (hours, not days, hopefully).

I had the same problem but after doing everything described in following link everything synced fast.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.27002131

Add the nodes in crown.conf as described and you get good connections to valid nodes.

Edit: No I was wrong. It was fast syncing at first but got stuck again on block 1684422 after the resync. I was stuck on this block before the resync too so resyncing after addnodes did not help. So how to fix this?

Edit 2: Waited a bit longer and now it is stuck at block 1684799. I guess syncing is slow and with some patience it will catch up?
Block explorer is at block 1686036. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/crw/
But latest block is more than 10 hours old. Something is not right...

I am blind, just ses above...

Crown Weekly Update December 18th 2017 to December 25th 2017

Crown and Friends of Cite Soleil Partnership
We have teamed up with the Friends of Cite Soleil Foundation to connect those that have been left out and hidden in the world to improve lives and communities. CRW can be used to contribute directly to them to make a difference in the world. The Crown LATAM team made the first contribution to these Haitian kids to share a little happiness during the Holidays. Our transparent platform can be a game changer in improving the transparency in various institutions that have been fraught with fraud.

December Proposals
We have seen a steady increase in the number and quality of proposals over time and December has been no exception. December had the most proposals submitted to the network of any month thus far! We are starting to see the beginning of the proposal system shaping into a market of competing proposals vying for funding. These new proposals if successful should help to grow our community and the strength of the project. We look forward to seeing how they turn out.

G-ME & Crown Crowd Funding Campaign
G-ME has finished their Indiegogo campaign! You can watch our joint video and support their campaign to get an exclusive GME tracker here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/g-me-the-first-global-tracker-backed-by-blockchain#/

Crown Systemnode Holiday Giveaway Contest
Our contest for a free systemnode with 12 months of hosting courtesy of Node-Vps has begun! It will run through January 5th. It is being held on gleam.io and you can get multiple entries! Enter here: https://gleam.io/uIU7H/crown-systemnode-giveaway

New Crown Website
A community member has offered to fund the development of a new Crown website by a professional web development company. We have begun working with them and are hoping to have it completed within 10 weeks. We hope to incorporate all of the fantastic feedback we have received while maintaining much of the style and values we have maintained that make us Crown.

Happy Holidays!

Crown Network Status update:
Today at approx 11 AM CET 200 nodes where brought online within a short period of time. At the same time, a large miner experienced technical issues with their wallet, which points to the problematic governance system, which we are currently working on to fix..
These two isolated incidences caused a ripple throughout the network, which caused the masternode and systemnode lists to become fragmented
which is also why you would see some nodes offline one minute, and online the next minute.

Recommended course of action:
Don't restart your nodes, node-vps.com still shows 1062 masternodes online, so we do have a complete nodelist on the network, it just needs to be propagated throughout the network again.
One way of solving this is to use the following old nodes to connect to, to quicker get a new nodelist for both types of nodes.
Current blockheight as of this writing is: 1685692

Do the following to sync to correct nodes:

Add the following lines to crown.conf:
addnode=149.56.109.178:9340
addnode=54.36.78.142:41346
addnode=54.37.241.206:35544
addnode=80.209.232.6:34912

Or open the debug console(Tools->Debug Console) and type the following:
addnode 149.56.109.178:9340 add
addnode 54.36.78.142:41346 add
addnode 54.37.241.206:35544 add
addnode 80.209.232.6:34912 add

This also means that we are defining node-vps' version of the node list as the truth, so some nodes will become missing/expired
but it should keep most online - and stabilize the network over the next 24 hours

Some nodes might be stuck on an earlier block - you will need to delete mncache.dat, mnpayments.dat, peers.dat, sncache.dat, snpayments.dat, budget.dat, then restart the wallet with -reindex.

./crown-cli stop;cd .crown; rm sn* mn* bud*;cd ..;./crownd -reindex
