What are the most basic myths about artificial intelligence?

AI Will Replace All Jobs
Of course, the emergence of AI can seriously disrupt work. However, it is wrong to view this disruption as a direct transfer of labor from people to machines. Previous industrial revolutions have led to changes in the workforce, but the number of jobs has remained generally unchanged.

❤️Computers Will Be Better than Humans
Did you know that artificial intelligence applications are divided into two groups: specialized and generic? Specialized ones are those that work in one field and are becoming increasingly successful. Yes, such robots succeed no worse than humans. However, generic AIs—those that can apply themselves to a number of different tasks—are yet to reach human level.

AI Will Quickly Catch Up and Pass Human Intelligence
This misconception occurs when we imagine intelligence in the form of a linear scale—for example, a scale of one to ten. In reality, intelligence is measured in many different dimensions. In some areas, computers are far ahead of us, while in others, such as creativity, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking, they are still far behind and unlikely to surpass us anytime soon.

AI Will Lead to the Destruction and Enslavement of the Human Race by Higher Robotic Beings
It’s one of many science fiction scenarios. The fact is that, despite a distant future where everything is possible, we will have to destroy a huge number of borders and make certain societal concessions before we find ourselves in such a position.

As cryptocurrencies develop and the number of cryptocurrency debit cards grows, enthusiasts have realized that direct spending of cryptocurrencies is not the only factor to consider when choosing a place to live. Political stability, a mild climate, and a good internet connection are crucial factors for people who want to be citizens of the world.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been considered to be one of the biggest innovations for the next industrial revolution, and this includes machine learning. As crude oil and electricity became the fundamental resources of the modern industry, on the other hand, data is a crucial element for AI and machine learning.

Documentary cinema is a good way to expand your outlook. We have collected a list of movies to help you learn more about new technologies!

Year Million (2017)

This series is from National Geographic talks in simple language about neural networks, machine learning, nanobots, gene therapy, and other complex topics. It features high-quality graphics, fascinating plots, and explanations and comments from real scientists.

Abstract: The Art of Design (2017)

This inspiring Netflix documentary series explains the work of modern designers. Graphic and industrial design, architecture and development, modern technologies, and classical approaches: everything is intertwined, and it is difficult to find a line where creativity merges with technology.

Animats. Des Especes En Voie D’apparition (2015)

This French documentary discusses the creation of robotic prototypes of living things: from cute and funny toys to serious machines engaged in rescue work or created for military purposes. You can watch with the whole family—the theme of animal robots is usually very interesting to children.

The Secret Rules of Modern Living: Algorithms (2015)

The film explains how and where humanity’s need for algorithms arose, how they are created, and how they work. How does the camera on your smartphone distinguish faces? How do advisory services sort your favorite and not favorite films? Why do algorithms help airport dispatchers? How have scientists tried to solve the “salesman problem” using bumblebees (and why did the bumblebees screw up)?

The Genius of Design (2010)

The film answers questions about how designs appear and what it means to be a designer. What is good design, how has industrialization separated design from the production process, and what is the beauty of industrial facilities and everyday items?

What documentaries or feature films have you watched about technology, design, and the future? Leave your recommendations in comments!

It is difficult today to find a person who doesn’t know who Elon Musk is. Millions of people watched the launch of his rocket live. He is known as the founder of Zip2, PayPal, OpenAI, SpaceX, Tesla Motors, and NeuraLink. But how did he achieve all this? Let’s look at the secrets to his success.

Difficulties Made Him Stronger

Musk was bullied at school to such an extent that he once had to be hospitalized after classmates attacked him. He was looking for a way out and found it in computers and the IT world. Then, in 2008, Musk, owning two huge companies, was almost ruined, but he found a way out.

He Moves Forward

At the age of 12, Musk created his first computer game, and at the age of 17, he began a new project. He became rich thanks to the creation of PayPal. While many people would stop there ($170 million is enough to live on for your entire life), Musk continued to move forward and invent, always looking for something new. The result: cars, missiles, and who knows what else.

Didn’t Stop When Others Stopped

Musk does not allow anyone or anything to stop him, but many people tried to do so. “He has the will. Elon is not afraid to break things—he will break himself if he has to,” says Justine Musk, his first wife and the mother of his first five children.

Carefully Chooses Who to Work With

Musk, as you know, asks job candidates one question and carefully listens to what they have to say. The answer tells him who really knows what they’re doing and who has great potential.

Devotes a Lot of Time to His Work

Admittedly, Musk’s work ethic is very intense and contradicts all the good advice about taking holidays, taking breaks, and doing only one thing at a time. His favorite method of work, for example, is multitasking. Musk once said that entrepreneurs should work 80 to 100 hours a week. He constantly worked 100 hours a week but recently reduced his schedule to 80 to 90 hours a week.
