a) We changed our name because we didn't want to be associated with "Dark" anything any longer. But we left the name "Darksend" alone?
b) "Darksend" is a poor description, because your coins are anonymized BEFORE you send them.

You could call it "Shuffle", even if it's not technically a CoinShuffle implementation. But it describes more or less what is happening.
...and if the iOS app ever sees the light of day, you could trigger this function using the shake gesture :-)

I would scratch Darksend and just go brand-less, is just Dash and you have your normal balance and your private balance.... Not every feature needs to have a brand... Brands need to be develop and I think we should concentrate on Dash.... just my personal opinion...
Edit: I mean we can just continue to call it Darksend in the community... Do nothing in that regards seems the best option, just not use it in the GUI wallet and simply call it your private balance... no biggie...

I really like privaTX ... but it doesn't make sense!
Private and anonymous are NOT mutually inclusive. You can be private and not anonymous, but you can't be anonymous and NOT be private.
Darksend is about promoting anonymity, not privacy. A regular tx can be perfectly anonymous, the only thing you have to do it make sure absolutely no one will ever know that address belongs to you. This is extremely hard, and why Darksend denominated mixing makes Dash really fungible, hence, easily anonymous.
The community discussed this before. We, in general, thought it was a great name, had legacy Darkcoin vibe in in, without the negative connotation associated. It's "dark" as in "unseen".
No smooth, we didn't have an official ballot on this, it was a clear general sense of things in our forums back then, you'll just have to take my word for it, and the word of everyone else in the community who wishes to speak out.
I'm sure if there are enough people voicing their opinion on this, the name could be reviewed - with an official voting and all - buts as things stand I hope to bring awareness that PrivaTX, though it DOES sound great and especially LOOK great next to InstantX, absolutely does not represent what the protocol does.

privaTX feels a bit awkward (to both write and pronounce) and is similar enough to InstantX that it might cause some confusion. Personally, I'm fine with Darksend, but if we're throwing ideas out there, how about something simple like "SafeGuard".
for average users, it might be better to just use the word "Send", and then you have 2 pots of coins, public and private, and you choose which pot to send from. You could move coins betwen the 2 pots (moving coins to the private pot anonimizes them, moving back to public just sends to yourself). Might be a dumb idea, just thinking about average users might get stuck with all the options / 'Darksend' / coin control and how to abstract that.
