Ghostplayer, I love you bro, but to be honest our constant aggressive reply to trolls, as a community, does not help. It is exactly what he wants and no matter what you say he will always come up with something else, that is his purpose here and he seems to enjoy it very much.

Every time we reply to a troll, no matter what our reply is, we give them the opportunity to post again. And when we say things like we are going to pet with trolls we sound juvenile.  And then we start a spiral where others that are definitely not trolls like wpalczynski, get involved and we end up insulting non-trolls and it all just gets ridiculous.

Please let him say whatever he wants, testnet is restarting with a bunch of updates we should be excited and discussing that. We should try to keep an intelligent discussion going and that is impossible to do if we keep replying to trolls.

I'm not technical, but am thinking about running 1 Masternode. I use a mac and can't keep my computer on 24/7, what are my options? And how much can I expect to make with 1 Masternode running 24/7 per day with each option?

Eddufield did chime in Smiley

And do you understand English? He was misquoted.

LOL, classy.

I dont get why you are LOL'ing. You made a very valid point, but then tried to validate your argument with Evan's quote when he was misquoted.

 That's almost a paradox.

Of course, misquoted.. how convenient  Roll Eyes

For those with actual functioning neurons, he's clearly talking about the property of irreversibility of a tx. the double-spend defense mechanism!! 51% attack anyone? In bitcoin's case, using the majority of services, it is the usual 6 confirmation time period.

Quote
"So you get all of the benefits of cash - like the security and the anonymity - without having to wait an hour like you would have to with bitcoin."

 10 x 6 = 60 minutes.

It's so damn simple it amazes me how much energy I put into slapping teenagers into shape.

Optional Donations of Masternode Income

Udjin and I just wrote an extension that allows the masternode network operators to voluntarily sponsor initiatives. This is a super powerful feature, you can specify that a percentage of your earnings will be redirected to any other address. I imagine people will lobby for an initiative, then they will post an address in the forums, if masternode operators supports it, they could donate 30% of their income (or any other amount).

Examples include:

- Sponsoring an advertising campaign
- Sponsoring development
- Donating to the Darkcoin Foundation's address

Another benefit of utilizing the protocol for something like this is, when used a percentage of payments will bypass you, creating no taxation (you never controlled the money at all).

https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin/commit/70164b2d4c507669aea0043ccde19226f49aaabd

* This is 100% voluntary, we'll never require donations. This line here is just for testing and has already been removed: https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin/commit/70164b2d4c507669aea0043ccde19226f49aaabd#diff-345a95f756731b98ecccf4a05e6bd4e2R113

Exactly what I wanted!  I'm so glad I can donate and never see the coins because it's so hard to give up the coins!  LOL.  Also, this way the foundation, etc, will get a constant stream (I hope)  When will this be implemented?  Is it in current test?

Darkcoin to rebrand as DASH to 'better represent' cryptocurrency's digital cash platform

Cool article. I love how Evan embarrasses himself by saying you have to wait an hour for a bitcoin transaction. I guess it's much better soundbyte than saying you don't have to wait 10 minutes  Roll Eyes

I have regularly experienced 1 hour + confirms on Bitcoin so it's completely accurate. Once it took 1 hour 32 minutes for 6 confirms.

I don't think I've ever had 10 min for even 3 confirmations. But I have experienced around 15 minutes for 3.

So you take an extreme example and spin it to your advantage. Definitely sounds like the kind of integrity we can expect from your dear leader. No one waits 6 confirmations anymore. Even exchanges make your funds available after only 1 confirmation.

Rubbish! Which exchange allows you full access to your BTC on one confirmation? Certainly not Bitfinex, Cryptsy, Poloniex, Bittrex, Bitstamp or BTC-e. So where, who, what?

I have to wait for about an hour for 6 confirms regularly so quoting an hour for BTC is completely valid.

The BS just pours unrestrained out of your mouth Adam.

Out of the hundreds of Bitcoin transactions I have performed, I have never, NEVER had to wait for anything even close to one hour in order to be granted full access to my funds after confirmation.

Hey Guys, this is spinning out of control, for something specific a reporter put on an article. Those are not statements Evan did for this article, the journalist looked into his archives for things he could use so it is out of context. This all started spinning out of control because we keep replying to Adam White, I honestly think we are developing some sort of Stockholm syndrome with our trolls.

If we would just make an effort of restraint not to reply it would be better, some of our replies are sometimes as destructive as the trolls.

Love that! It is similar to Nxt charity forging(account leasing).

Can you use multiple addresses?
or
Is it limited to just one?

Just one per masternode and

Another note on that, just to make things clear and avoid possible confusions: current implementation simply switch payee for of your MN payments on average, it does NOT split your MN payments. So say you set 10% - that means that whole amount of 1 of 10 your MN payments (on average) will be completely redirected to donation address. In other words you will "miss" 1 of 10 your MN payments (on average) in that case. This scheme was selected on purpose - to quickly give people some tech to be able to donate and avoid the need for a fork (updating majority of miners, modifying rpc and pools software) at the same time.

I'm talking wallet to wallet as well as exchanges.  As Adam White points out regarding Poloinex, they allow you access to your Bitcoins after one confirmation.  I've literally been able to use by Bitcoins after about 10 mins.  I'm not saying 10 mins is the norm sometimes it takes a bit longer but certainly saying its one hour is very unrealistic based on my experience.

Ah, but that's not a valid argument.

directbet.eu even pays out when you win with zero confirmations.

As I pointed out, this experience is not only related to Polo.

Then, I'm sorry to doubt you. Either you accidentally only used very light hearted services, or idk...  I'm sure others will chime in.

Well, I was misquoted. The idea is when you have a 4 second IX confirmation, that's equal to about an hour of mining on the Bitcoin network. Statistically IX is very secure after it confirms.

What do you mean, after your funds have been confirmed, you've never had to wait an additional hour?

The problem here was that the confirmation itself can take up to an hour or more. Whatever additional waiting happens after that is due to the other party and irrelevant to the subject at hand.

Never had to wait longer close to one hour to use my Bitcoins from the moment of initiating the transaction on the sending end.

When stuff gets "real", you need a few blocks for your business's sake, as safety measure against double-spend. Try something other than Poloniex and you will feel the pain.

https://blockchain.info/charts/avg-confirmation-time

mintime: 5 min for one confirmation
maxtime: 11 min for one confirmation

So in a sense he is right. 'Cos you can spend your coins after only 1 conf.

Its when double-spending becomes a liability that your are forced the typical 6 confs. I remember when we forked, Mintpal increased their typical 6 to something like 15

What ? seriously? I have the exact opposite experience.

Are you sure you're talking about services, or wallet-to-wallet tx?
