Freelancers Favor Cryptocurrency, Simplifies International Work

A new survey by Humans.net reveals that 29% of freelance workers prefer to get paid in cryptocurrency over traditional payment methods.

The survey covered 1,100 freelancers in the United States and revealed that 18% would prefer all of their payment in cryptocurrency, while the other 11% preferred only some of their fees paid in cryptocurrency. The internet opened up the freelance industry to be done digitally across boarders, however, this means payment can no longer be made safely or practically in cash. The first solution was mainstream bank wire transfers, which carried excessive fees. Then the app age brought innovations like PayPal, but the fees did not improve significantly enough for independent workers.

$80 for one DASH coin. Has it been time to all-in invest into DASH?
Personally, I think it has been right time to all in.

I have been confident in this currency for a long time, and I think I will continue doing it, because it is the little in the market that really serves what it says.

I really feel bad for those who invested their money with prices above $ 500 or $ 1000, such as Neptune Dash, which may take years to recover the investment.

As it was crazy the rise to $ 1600 in a few months, now that the currency is more functional, it is absurd to lower to $ 80, but the market is like that ... and in the case of Dash, compared to other currencies, we have an advantage that becomes a handicap.

That handicap is having to finance the DAO every month, something that if we see much lower prices for a long time, we will pass an important bill slowing down the progress. forced to sell in the exchanger for money a good heap of Dash, it is noted, and other currencies for example the preminated ones, do not need to sell, since there is no mining to finance, nor the DAO, for that reason they fall much less ( XRP, XLM, EOS, ADA ...) can better speculate with the prices.

Hard times come, and the good thing that I see is that the master nodes hold this great descent, just as the big Dash portfolios of the top 50 accumulate.

I have never changed one of my Dash for Fiat, nor will I, I have always used them in merchants, and among private individuals who accepted, that is my philosophy.

Thank you Dash for existing and give us a great opportunity to be part of something that I hope will survive us.

The founder and CEO of Overstock.com, Patrick Byrne, spoke about his enthusiastic support of blockchains and its revolutionary potential that rivals the invention of the internet.

“The blockchain revolution has a greater potential than anything we’ve seen in history. … It’s bigger than the Internet revolution, how it’s going to restructure society.”

Hi,
Apart the Chainlocks implementation, could someone explain what this data about Dash mean? Is it really so cheap (6349$) attack the network during an hour? Is Dash well positioned respect others coins?
I'm just curious because it's a retweet of Szabo.

Thanks in advanced.

You can read up (or back) about it here : https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/51-attack-costs-on-cryptocurrencies-looking-for-feedback-on-article.38356/
I never did get a clear answer if Dash is really that cheap to attack..... i suspect it is not, specially now with the new ASIC miner out (the one with the very high price tag).
But on the other hand the price of Dash has dropped considerably.

Since the success of a 51% attack depends for a part on a weak hashrate, Dash seems less likely to get hit by 51% attacks thanks to Dash (still) relatively high hashrate and costly hardware.
And with regards to InstantSend possibly forming a protection against 51% attacks :

* TroyDash :
Quote
InstantSend does not prevent a 51% mining attack, and someone would not need to control 51% of masternodes in order to execute a 51% attack on transactions including InstantSend txs. What InstantSend does is it makes it just as safe to accept a
zero-confirmation transaction as it would be to accept a normal 6-confirmation or 20-confirmation transaction (but not infinite, because the locks do expire eventually at some point *after* the tx has been included in a block). With the understanding that 20-confirmation
transactions are still susceptible to a sustained 51% attack just like they would be in any other PoW chain. If a 51% mining attacker were to mine on a forked chain and get more proof of work and get something like 100 blocks ahead, then the original chain would still be
abandoned in favor of the new chain.

Dash current hashrate and overview of mining pools active on Dash network :

Chainlocks obviously provides far better protection against these kind of malicious attacks, then just having high hashrate and high hardware costs.

I was looking at the classifications of coinmarketcap.com and it is sad that, even doing today Dash 100% would be out of the top 10, since we capitalize now 725K (15th) and for example Bitcoin SV 1.6M (9th)

I do not know what Dash has done wrong to be dragged so low, and evidently this black hole has a very negative effect on DAO funding.

If this spiral continues it seems clear that we will end up falling very low on this list, which for many is not important, but that really is the benchmark for most new investors who come to this exciting world.

To think that not so long ago we were in the top 5, and analyzing it now we see that it would be an impossible task to return there, even being a brilliant coin.

The market may be illogical, but it is not a consolation  Huh .

a greeting

Dash to Implement InstantSend by Default, Solve Critical Merchant Adoption Barrier

Dash is preparing to activate InstantSend transactions by default, laying an important foundation for mass merchant adoption.

As part of the upcoming 0.13 release, regular transactions will be made InstantSend by default. At present, regular transactions work like those of most other cryptocurrencies, with a payment being broadcast instantly but its security not to be trusted until several on-blockchain confirmations, while the InstantSend option uses the masternode network to lock transaction inputs for an additional fee, resulting in a transaction that is secure instantly. With the implementation of InstantSend by default, all simple Dash transactions (four inputs or fewer) will automatically be locked by the masternodes, without incurring an additional cost or requiring that the software explicitly support the InstantSend option.

Quite the contrary indeed.

This shows exactly why privacy coins are needed.

Financial privacy is a fundamental right of everyone doing commerce.  A concept that the control addicts in human society have a hard time understanding.
