The balance seems to have display issues. There might need to be some stuff fixed, but yes, denominations are much faster now using the high precision matching engine

The 1.5 DRK are the minimun amount of DRK you need to have to go through the Darksend process and anonymize your coins.

Once your coins are private, you can spend down to the lowest denomination which is 0.1 DRK. Remember with Darksend you can just go through the anon process once and keep a certain balance of anon coins and then spend from there as needed.
