Venezuela’s Oil-Backed Petro Appears to Be a ‘Blatant’ Copy of Dash

In the document, the government explains the cryptocurrency will use the X11 mining algorithm, just like Dash does, and will include an “Instant Send” feature that, per the whitepaper, is active by default.

While the Instant Send feature is present in Dash, Venezuela touts it’s one of Petro’s “most important characteristics.”

Very interesting. I was wondering how they can handle it when their country currency suddently takes minutes for each transfer.

Takeing the InstantSend feature form DASH and makeing it a default on is a very logical choose. You can't have a real country currency when it is not instant transferable.

That InstantSend feature is why DASH has very good cards for global adaptions.

I just hope they dont run into limitations with making everything InstantSend by default. For example i seem to remember with Dash that you need at least one proof of work confirmation when you receive an InstantSend transaction
and you want to send the (still locked) input amount further through another InstantSend transaction.

Trying to remember what the limits were.. I thought it was to do with how much capacity quorums use to lock the transaction, there are a few extra messages need to be sent per transaction. And longer living quorums is part of the way to grow that capacity.

Anyway I'm sure petro will be able to copy and paste again once Dash solves the problem for them

US Homeland Security: Cryptocurrencies Traceable When Converted to Cash

The US Department of Homeland Security considers cryptocurrency to be easily traceable when converting to fiat currencies.

In a recent testimony by the US Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) before the US Senate Caucus on Narcotics Control, cryptocurrencies are occasionally used to purchase illicit drugs such as illegal opioids:

I hope that wasn't a bad try to establish a ridiculous causal relationship between Amanda and Dash's price back then... She did a great job, but please...
Ridiculous causal relationship, what did you mean?
I would like to wait and hear more words from you to express the ideas a bit clearer.
I don't get your ideas in the above thread, honestly.

I agree with SixFigures that there are most likely other factors that influenced the price of Dash back then, so in that context trying to connect the price of Dash directly to Amanda's marketing activities in the past
seems farfetched (if orginal poster who mentioned this was actually trying to do that). Specially considering Dash was in a bull market at the time, like many altcoins.

That is also why i dislike in budget proposals a direct connection to price (promising a higher Dash price for example), there will always be factors outside of people's control that can influence the price of Dash.

It seems only thing used in Venezuela is a copy of DASH whitepaper.   That is what you get if your coin have zero innovation. I wonder who will be accused now that such outrages things are happening.

It seems that Febo (a Monero fanatic)

Ha ha ha I knew it. It is me that demolished this snake oil dreams:

I'm confused now, does this mean Febo = Ryan Taylor ?  Huh Shocked Huh
That would be .. unexspected.  Roll Eyes

I think it's a nice idea to invade Turkey now as their currency is quite unstable (not that much as in Venezuela, but still)

eh, i'm not sure that is a good idea as you will be at war with 29 countries (NATO) when you invade Turkey  Roll Eyes

On a more serious note :

We know that Venezuela has an very friendly crypto environment right now, i'm not sure the same can be said about Turkey.
There could still be protection efforts underway by the Turkish government / Central Bank to support their local currency, which could hinder
crypto adoption there.

It seems that Febo (a Monero fanatic) is in fact so worried about Dash progress in Venezuela, that he fell back to his old trolling habits and decided to troll the Dash ANN thread again.
That is just sad really, as it clearly shows his inability to  learn and move on and also shows that the saying "once a troll, always a troll" has merit.

Febo: the little troll that can't put Dash out of his head

Sad sad sad sad sad sad sad...

In the mean time Dash adoption in Venezuela under merchants and users keeps on increasing at an exponential rate :

Dash pretty much left Monero behind with regards to number of transactions, strength of network, usebility, adoption, progress.

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/hashrate-dash-xmr.html#3m
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactionfees-dash-xmr.html#3m

Where Dash is slowly getting mainstream adoption with its fast, low cost transactions and optional privacy, Monero and other privacy-centric cryptocurrencies are feeling the limitations of being restricted to a niche market only.

Price was great when Amanda B. Johnson was active...

We keep working on her to come back. She was part of a recently failed proposal, I hope that doesn't further discourage her.

hopefully mr, I always look forward to the good news from the dash,
because I'm sure Dash will go to the moon.

Dash Adoption Pushes Forward in Africa

Dash Hub Africa and Dash Africa have been spearheading Dash adoption in Africa despite inconsistent funding for their projects.

Ghana and Nigeria continue to top the charts of countries that use Dash to purchase mobile airtime through Bitrefill, according to stats shared with Dash Force News by both organizations. Dash Hub Africa has been pursuing merchant and consumer adoption via their ambassador program. When they visited the Ivory Coast, their ambassadors were able to get 25 merchants to accept Dash and listed on DiscoverDash.com. Dash Hub Africa told Dash Force News that “consumers are willing to spend Dash on basic utilities like bills, airtime, subscription and vouchers”, which makes the “5 of the 8 countries from Dash Hub Africa be ranked on Bitrefill metrics as some of the highest in the world (Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Kenya and Togo)”. Dash Hub Africa also discussed the overall advantages they see for Africans to adopt Dash.
