Hello !

I'm a small miner running three radeon 280x GPU. I'm getting 4194 Kh/s from one card. I'm using sgminer on linux. Should I look for an updated miner or do not touch?
I'm mining on multipools (mostly on yaamp.com pool), get the BTC and buy DRK with it.

Any suggestions?
can anyone give me a github link to an updated sgminer so I can download an compile and run.

so "dummy" question:
can we run mining over masternodes and cut out the miners all together ?
Is that technically possible ?
Concerning Possible... I believe yes. But it brings up centralization issues. But there are centralization issues when you have massive pools mining as well. I think it is the question of the day! Certainly something to think about.

Well, one hypothetical situation is that all nodes (not just masternodes) CPU mine with their idle cycles.

Not recommendable.
You should only mine on devices with proper ventilation etc..
To just abuse a normal pc for mining would need that you inform the user first and have him first equip his pc with additional fans etc...

So this is not something that you could just apply on any wallet node out there.

Only one solution: X11 ASIC... yes I am looking forward to X11 ASICs.

Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question, but about the possibilities of X11 FPGA...

How come such a large % of blocks are found by miners not using a known pool?

(from chainz.cryptoid.info)

https://i.imgur.com/mhX4opp.png

Also how come the % has been increasing steadily...

https://i.imgur.com/vDXndj3.png

...when major pools % like SuchPool has been decreasing?

https://i.imgur.com/b2AbGUv.png

Why is it unreasonable to assume the unknown % is FPGA or why is it so high?

Wouldn't this explain the constant dumping?  Is there any info from blockchain analysis about where these coins are going? Or did I miss something obvious....

cheers

As I said earlier, we should maybe think of changing to a new algo.. Evan said that he would change algo when asics were possible, FPGA's are hurting this coin, this dumping is just insane.

We would be better with scrypt or sha256, at least their asics are in the market, but a new cpu/gpu algo would be better...

uh ok so cryptoid.info is just wrong  Shocked

thanks

EDIT: specifically cryptoid.info extraction stats are missing major pools like coinminepl, trademybit, coinotron, x11ltcbtc, which make up the 'unknown' hash % Smiley

Decentralize Everything
I recently conducted a bit of a solo mining experiment and was able to rent a 3.5Ghs X11 rig that delivered impressive stats (bursting to 7Ghs!).  At the time, our solo pool accounted for 4% of the total network hash rate.

Does anybody know how I was able to rent such hash power?  What technology are they using?

Edit:  Just look at the highest hash rate X11 rig on miningrigrentals.com to see the rig I rented...

Europol has issued a new report on Internet crime in which it outlined a number of scenarios involving bitcoin.

Called the Internet Organised Crime Threat Assessment (iOCTA), the report examines the use of bitcoin on various dark web sites, by organised crime and individual actors, and calls digital currencies an ‘enabler’ for cryber-criminals and a challenge for law enforcement.

However, it makes a clear distinction between bitcoin and digital currencies designed with true anonymity in mind, like darkcoin, warning:

“We feel it should concern everyone that the latest cyber currencies are intended to be truly anonymous and to facilitate anonymous transactions. We face a situation where law enforcement may be completely unable to trace even very large criminal transactions.”

This is a key point for failing the sucesss of DRK coin. The only question is at which point of time will the western world police stop DRK. Its the most thing they are scared about - A anon cash they can't control with their central banks. They will do the same with DRK as they did with gold and silver. They manipulate the markets to scare people and mainstream media will do their work to blame DRK.

Evan as core developer who created DRK is a public person, nothing easier to stop him.
I am behind the DRK project because i think free people need a free money that cant be controled by anyone.
Not to do any crime related things, only to be sure i have privacy, nothing more, nothing less.
But this wish is not realistic in a world with modern slaves. We are nothing more than slaves without wearing chains.

Do yo have a link to the report ?

https://www.europol.europa.eu/sites/default/files/publications/europol_iocta_web.pdf (Darkcoin mentioned by name on pages 34 and 41).

OMG - Darkcoin directly named side by side on Bitcoin. Thats not good. Users are  directly named as criminals.
That shows the real potential of Darkcoin. The most crypto community is too stupid to recognice that.
They are only after a short profit, nothing more.
The report shows in a few quick words that the darkcoin system is decentraliced with a p2p network.
Conclusion - they can't shut it down with switching of some servers and i will be a real danger.
Not for use by criminals but for our fiat money system, the central banks and the wall street.

I do not have a good feeling - we are fighting for freedom but we will be named and blamed as criminals.

evan, maybe if you read this, can you leave a comment on how do you think about that.
It's good to fight for freedom but what will the price be ?

Not the miners, no, still need them, but if MNs acted as p2pool nodes and p2pool mining was enforced, we'd get rid of the 51% attack, ensure decentralisation, and have perfect MN payment compliance without any need for 'enforcement.'

I wrote this back in April. Different idea, but same principle.

It is nice idea, decentralised mining with impossible of 51% and 100% good actors Wink I like this.

Looking at this: https://www.europol.europa.eu/sites/default/files/publications/europol_iocta_web.pdf they wrote about darkcoin because they are afraid and know that darkcoin has a great potential. Th things are going in good direction. Don`t you remember bitcoin? Had the same issues, threat, inlegality etc.
I`m happy that Evan works in the basement, exactly -15 floor under surface in Russia Wink
