I didn't even realize that so many MNs were created in the past few days (just looking at the charts right now).
We are nearing the 1k milestone. We might see it before RC4 hits.
Yea it's pretty remarkable. If the price drops a bit more I think we'll see even more MNs come online as they become more affordable to acquire. As a holder of DRK myself, obviously a price decline is not the most pleasant thing, but on the other hand it's increasing MN distribution, so it's a double edged sword.
Well it sure doesn't feel comfortable since I did buy a lot even at 0.017 and up. I try not to think about it.
While increasing MN distribution it also gives me some room to buy even more. The market is pretty dry.
Yep I'll agree with you there, the volume has been pretty low since the May-June explosion in price. I think one of the peak days back then was around 4000-5000 btc traded in one day. Right now we're trading around 100-300 btc a day and have been slowly going back down with whale dumps interspersed among smaller sells. Where will it bottom out exactly? No idea. But, I do know that RC4 is under development and will be quite something when it's released. Crypto traders are incredibly impatient though, so whether the market has the patience to wait for it is another matter entirely.
Picture crypto trading as hundreds of merry-go-rounds on a fair ground; one for each coin. When the merry go round slows down people become impatient, and start looking around for one that's speeding up or looking like it will sped up. If the one they are on isn't spinning fast enough they'll lose patience and jump off. I'm fairly sure when RC4 is ready our merry-go-round will attract quite the crowd.
DRK's value will be dependent on developing features beyond anonymity, which, as I alluded to, will not be a distinguishing feature from BTC with the advent of anonymizing wallets. I'd be interested to hear about some of these features that are on the development horizon.
A couple ideas being thrown around are using masternodes to host the blockchain for lightweight clients (similar to electrum for bitcoin), or using them to host Tor relays. There are a ton of possibilities, those are just a couple ideas.
