Analysis of block chains was done by academic researchers. there are several published papers of their results.

Also, others are starting to try to link IP addresses to transactions.

Strange turn of events.

1) someone discovers fedoracoin code on xc git and posts it in xc thread

2) XC price freefall. No one questions it but says it is all FUD.

3) MyFarm, points out to DRK twitter? and all hell breaks loose. He is a hero for the XC community and no one questions the fedoracoin angle

4) Not once has MyFarm come here and defended Darkcoin against everyday trolls. Has sponsored bounties to other coins to see if they can implement Darksend or other competing technologies.

5) MyFarm threatens he will dump Darkcoins. LOL

He instigated all this mess and clearly a hack. Somehow people here supposed to be afraid he might dump darkcoins. I say GTFO and good riddance.

XC has been so shady and people keep throwing Dan's linkedin profile on us. It is a shame about what he is doing, where is the professional courtesy in that. Any questions asked to him is all FUD. I also read that he might have been asked to remove the idea of any reviews since it would give away the advantage lol.

As for my communication? Lately I've just had my nose to the grindstone, coding all of the time. I intend to be much more involved with the community in the future. This will include getting a team of software developers and managing the vision of the project. I think my time might be better spent in the future doing interviews, speaking at conferences and being Darkcoin's figurehead.

If you need some help, just ask. PM for my email. My first computer was a sinclair Z81, My last work was a device to control an unstable body with huge mass in the air autonomously. (you can calculate the years of coding experience)

Tell them to email me at [email protected] or jump onto #darkcoin-dev!

You guys need Hiro Satou on your side. He is a protocol genius.

whatever the case is, I can assure you Hiro is a code genius. I call him Satoshi 2. He can help do lots of things. And right now darkcoin needs experienced help.

Tell him to email [email protected] or jump onto #darkcoin-dev!

I don't think anonymity is a fad. It's a requirement for digital cash.

+1. As businesses get into using cryptocurrency, they will make it an automatic requirement. No company is going to want to open its books to competitors, but that is what will potentially happen every time an accounting employee goes from Company A to Company B (or simply sells out for cash). That was a "light bulb" moment for me regarding anonymity - ALL SERIOUS ALTCOINS MUST HAVE IT going forward.

How does the lack of anonymity open the doors for competitors? Because now they can see how much a company is earning? Congrats; that does absolutely nothing.

Anonymity only serves to thwart the governments, which is what will lead to stronger regulation.

You can't be serious, it's a joke right ? You don't see the issue for a company to let its competitors see its income, when it sells the most/the less, how much it receives per transaction in average etc.

You're going to have to spell this out to me. We know how much Microsoft earns. We know how much they spend. We know where they source things from. Same with Apple. Same with Blizzard. Same with Exxon. How is ANY of this going to matter? And if it's so important, why is it all public information anyways? Basically you want to anonymize data that is already publicly displayed. That's asinine.

You talk about turnover, I talk about account details, transactions in real time, how the money is used, how much did they pay a supplier etc. sensitive informations. You are either dumb or naive.

Please tell me how are you gonna tell how many bitcoins someone owns if he uses a different address for each customer/transaction and doesn't move them to a concentrating address.

How is the current Bitcoin system going to spell any of this out? You can see transactions in/out. You don't know what's going to supplier or which ones. You don't know what's going back to customers. You don't know anything but money in/money out. It's like looking at a banking balance sheet that has everything blacked out but the amounts. It isn't going to give you any information that isn't already public. Blacking out the numbers as well has no benefit at all.

I think I heard somewhere that there are already companies datamining the blockchain and putting pieces together so that they can sell exactly that information to those willing to pay for it.

Note at the end of the article what the company had to do, looks a lot like darksend doesn't it? Having a currency that already has that functionality built in would be a huge relief to such companies.

I'm sure the Darkcoin devs would like you to think that the person that had his Darkcoins stolen was purely a user error (either it being a downed firewall and/or a poor wallet password), but the truth is, no one knows (though we will if people keep getting their masternode wallets stolen). Until Darkcoin has the proven reputation that Bitcoin has had with its security (which has proven to be flawed), I'm not sure why anyone would be willing to let $5,000+ dollars sit in the open waiting for some desperate hacker to find a flaw.

completley agree

How can anyone agree on that? InternetApe had a look at the guy's server and stuff couldn't have been done any more wrong! Have a look at IA's last posts, you'll find it. If you can't secure your machine even at the lowest level possible, which is choosing a reasonably secure password, you just shouldn't put up a master node.
Most people seem to think that setting up a masternode basically equals getting free money. MNs are a crucial part of Darkcoin's infrastructure and they need to be secured properly. That's the whole point of making it this expensive and risky if done wrong to run one.

What are you talking about no one knows? Yes they do. He was helped via skype and it was confirmed how they got in.

Don't waist your time, he only wants to mess the thread

I'm not trying to thread cap, just stating the obvious. Any investor wanting to trade in BTC for DRK to act as a masternode is placing $6,000+ at risk -- you really do have to assure people their wallets are secure, given reasonable protection.

newbie - it's to the individual to secure their tokens just as it is the cash in their pocket,
you paid to post such stupid too?

Does anyone know what happened to the masternode stats site ? (http://drk.poolhash.org/darksend.html)

Whenever I accessed it during the last few days it almost hung both my browsers.

Have you tried http://drk.poolhash.org/masternode.html ?

Whenever I accessed it during the last few days it almost hung both my browsers.

Since then, my Mac's totally screwed - spinning pizza every 30 seconds for about a minute. Tried all kinds of clean up tools including Diskwarrior. I'm going to now reformat and re-install the whole system (something I was wanting to do anyway but 'want' has now become 'need').

There was something wrong with that site. Now it seems to be down.

I'm not suggesting it was malicious - may just have been dodgy Javascript, but I haven't noticed anyone else complaining about it. It was a usefull stats page but I'm terrified to go near it now once I wipe my machine.

(I didn't have any wallets or passwords stored on that machine by the way - they're all offline in an encrypted drive.)

Yeah it froze my mac up aswell when going to it a couple days ago so I stopped

I don't usually talk much about price, because honestly I don't really care. I'm mostly concerned with functionality and building something with real utility.

However, that's what the forums have been consumed with so here's my take on this. Darkcoin is six months old, last month we went from $0.77 to $15.00. It was literally four weeks long, and what goes up must come down. Crypto currencies grow in this way, it's actually normal. Next we'll form a base somewhere about here and things will get quiet before we make our next move to the upside.

I don't post all of the time because, I work insane amounts of time on Darkcoin. This is my job and when I'm posting I'm not coding. Plus, I'm an introvert and I really like putting on headphones and cranking out some code. It's what I do.

What's next?

Things will relax and I'll start perfecting the hard fork for the masternode payments, then RC3. When we're happy with that, I have contacts now all over the media that would love to do another article and update our progress.

Speaking of things coming down, that goes for X11Coin too. From the looks of it, you trust your money to the decentralized mixer by the way. They're pretty secretive about how it works, but that's what I gather from it. I'd love to get a response. DarkSend is trustless for a reason, you don't want the "XNodes" running off with the money.

keep up the good work my friend, you're the man !
