I think its because there is a massive flight to quality going on in wider market.   New people from DOGE and BC who were expecting to get rich quick realize those coins don't have anything different and their markets are saturated so they coming here looking for unique features.

So the cats out of the bag on DRK and it is benefiting from a shake-up from elsewhere

I think you're giving mouthbreathing bandwagonists way too much credit. They just jump after whatever seems to be the fad of the day. Today it just happens to be drk. Obviously I hope you're right but given the greed and stupidity of people I don't see it has all of a sudden changed.

Yeh, then when the coin goes up 100x they get excited and tard up the thread lol

i was under the impression that those 1000drk for the masternode would be gone.

as i understand it now the 1000drk are just held in the wallet as long as the node is running??

Yes, you keep the 1000 DRK, so any fee earned is a pure profit.

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/

With 128 node we're talkiing 8 Darks per day. It's a lot, especially as the price rises.

Will there ever be a dump after this?

im expecting so, it did with blackcoin

currently, this is all off the back of RC1.

1. RC2 due out.

2. Then final release.

3. Then open source.

Thats three steps to heaven right there.

+1
As proven before people don't sell Darks lightly... this is so much more than just a trade type coins.
You also have incentive to keep 1000 drk for each masternode and earn fees.

Beside, it's just x2 rise to what is was in past, appreciation of value and future roadmap, serious pump would take it easily 20-30x.
how many people do you think hold 1000DRK?

A lot, the coin is very well distributed.
30 masternode so far, I expect 100+ shortly after RC2 is release, it's just too good opportunity to pass.

Beside, why would anyone except traders sell coin which can easily go to $50-100 this year, market for anynomous coin is huge, people value privacy.
it sounds like you wont get much payout with a masternode if there's lots of them, they are talking 3 years to make 1000 DRK

But all the Masternodes ip adresses are public aren't they?

I don't see why couldn't be operated through IP obfuscation if one wanted to do so.

Quote
Don't you think the NSA has the power to hack/seize enough masternodes if they really wanted to?

That would be too obvious.

Quote
So a high masternode price doesn't necessarily reduce the risk of the NSA aquiring enough of them.

Well, if someone wants to buy, say, 2-3mn DRKs they'll have to send the price to the moon to do it as the selling supply dries up from willing bagholders and acquisition costs skyrocket from the lack of market liquidity. However a new coin is practically doomed in terms of anonymity if someone controls its darksend nodes for pennies.

If it is so sought after, why is it down 60% in less than a week?

1k is not much, about $100

If you are referring to dark,  it has gone up 80%+ this week,

1000 Dark is roughly 4.467 BTC at the time of writing, Which is 2k USD lol.

I have about 100K doge, should i trade it all for DRK?

The DRK price has risen very fast obviously so usually not the time to buy.  but long term yes, obviously because it has real world features that people want where as doge is just a fad.  In this case if i didn't have any DRK and I only had DOGE i would be moving over here asap, just try and catch the dips with a lot of orders and don't worry too much about short term price as its a long term investment that can go a lot higher than the current price.
Im thinking of exchanging all my coins for DRK, i have 100K of mintcoin and 40K of digibyte that i dont think is going anywhere fast.
I may wait for the prices to settle down first though.
I wish i could get a masternode running, i just dont have enough DRK.

I wouldn't put all my btc in any one coin.  that being said i wouldnt hold any mintcoin or digibyte either and DRK is an unusual one as its totally unique out of all the coins so maybe up to 25% of portfolio in DRK wouldn't be a bad idea.

i'm not up to date on masternodes what does 1000 drk get you then?
A master node requires you to keep 1000DRK in its wallet, from what i understand, its needs to hold a certian amount of coins in order to be used for the coin mixing etc.
i feel like putting most of my investment in NXT as i see this being more stable in the long term, but Darkcoin, blackcoin and possibly megacoin are here to stay

what is the payout if you have 1000 drk in a masternode then?

This explains it better here.

wow - so people incentivized to lock DRK in masternodes to make profit out of it - like POS - very clever Smiley
