If I had my wallet stolen, what method can retrieve it?

This is basically the same as Bitcoin.  If you lose your wallet, you lost it.  Be careful be responsible.  And I'm saying that with proper fear for my coin which I will put into cold storage as soon as Darksend is complete (or allows over 10 coins in a transaction, LOL)

Just figured out that Anoncoin is a fork from Litecoin

That probably means it would do well when ASICs for scrypt hit, but they may not have an active mining community?

The Future Of Work

stupid question but how do I back up the wallet data from the old wallet ?

NOT STUPID at all!!!  Very important to know how to back up your wallet, you could lose all your coin if you don't!!!  Two ways.

1. With your wallet open, go to the menu File => Backup Wallet.  Choose a location to save it and give it a name, I usually use the type of coin "Darkcoin_wallet.dat"

2. With the wallet closed, go to your wallet folder, in Windows, it's in C:/Users/AppData/Roaming/Darkcoin/  Find the wallet.dat file and copy it then save to another location.  In Ubuntu at least, it's in your home file, hidden (so choose show hidden) and is called .darkcoin.

To restore a wallet, you can just load and sync a wallet, then replace the wallet.dat file with the one you saved Smiley

so when I back up the old xcoin wallet  I need to find it in c: the copy it and add it to the new darkcoin wallet folder(anywhere in folder?)
im trying to get 222 coins sent from old wallett new wallet

So you have two distinct versions of "wallet.dat" ? One with the "old" address and one with the new ? And you have transferred 222 DRK from the old to the new one ?

yes exactly

Did  you do this? and did it work?

seems like it doesnt matter what you do these days, ppl will try to say its a clone

http://www.quarkcoins.com/quark-clones.html

Clone = identical copy, not "based-on but different in this/that way" / "inspired-by" / "evolution of" etc. Some people simply don't understand the definition.

yeah, thats why i wrote what i wrote on that site

besides, a clone is something where i just change a few parameters and the name,

not add extra stuff, or upgrade something to become better

and why start from sratch when the base system functions fully as it should, and you expect to add features to it.

starting from scratch = adding up to a year or more, in pure development, without knowing if its going to be a success, then its better to
evolve from where we are

Should Man have reinvented the wheel, cart, wagon, etc... before creating the car?  LOL

So I have a question for the community here about X11 mining on Darkcoin:

I'm mining with two sapphire R9 290x Tri-X cards. I run SGminer 4.1.0 and use a .bat file to start it and CGwatcher to keep things going.

Usually I set my --gpu-threads value to "2,2" but recently I tried setting it as high as "10,10". When I do this then in SGminer I see my hashrate go up to about 3.5 to 3.7 MH/s per card (from my usual of 2.7). This is awesome, however I start getting boatloads of stale shares. On the dashboard on my pool (lotterymining or coinmine, either one) I see a super low hashrate of like 1.2 to 2.0 MH/s, when it should be up near 7.0 MH/s. Does anyone know why I start getting all these stale shares when I put the threads up?

Bump--anyone?

No, this coin has long-term potential.

Well in did it has! But this might be very hard to keep it on the right tracks!

I hope nothing bad will happen to it!

This link might help you.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Securing_your_wallet

- have backup, or have private key
: Encrypted - depends on password length, transfer to another wallet(not to stolen wallet account)
: Non encrypted - depends on when you realize it.

- have no backup or have no private key
: Encrypted - No way
: Non encrypted - No way
