What hashrate could I get on a single 280x let say 1050/1500?

bring the engine speed up to 1100! i get 2.2 mhash with it Grin

Cool thanks!

Like how much darkcoin per day with that 2Mh/s?

Is there any calculator site available?

with a single r9 280x you're looking at somewhere AROUND 8 a day

I was thinking about this earlier, does anyone know how hot GPUs run mining bitcoin? If that runs cooler I would tend to think the extra power draw and heat is because scrypt pretty much rewrites the entire ram available as fast as possible over and over again, whereas Bitcoin/Darkcoin would only use a small amount of ram.

Curiosity got the better of me... below are some test results for 2 x HD7950.  Power is measured at the wall.  Idle power is 210W.

darkcoin
hashrate: 3.80Mh/s
temps: 52,57
power: 415W

bitcoin
hashrate: 1.21 Gh/s
temps: 69,76
power: 680W

litecoin
hashrate: 1.34Mh/s
temps: 73,81
power: 740W

This may not be a valid comparison because I don't know how to optimize settings for bitcoin.  All I did was fiddle with the intensity setting.  Does 605Mh/s for each HD7950 sound reasonable?

Thank-you for the testing and for sharing your results.

I'm seeing almost the exact same hash rate from my 7950s while mining DRK, and while anecdotally I know they're running way cooler, I don't have a Kill-A-Watt to test the power draw. Taking your idle draw into account, it seems that each 7950 draws roughly 100W extra mining DRK versus 265W mining LTC. Saving 165W per card shaves an awful lot off the electric bill when they're going full throttle 24/7 Smiley

NET HASH @ 6GH/s. It is amazing !!!  Wink

With pool.darkcoin.io down?

Still? Please use p2p from now on so you aren't at the mercy of these pool operators.

Connected to p2pool --> http://112.175.123.82:8372/static/

now all i get are these msg from the miner:
Pool 0 difficulty changed to 0.XX
stratum from pool 0 requested work restart

What should I do??

That's awesome!  Best I've seen so far by a long way.  Nice and solid looking.  I'd be curious to see a 'gold' version where the silver was gold instead.

What config do you use for darkcoin?

The dash in the D could lead to confusion with Dogecoin, which is much larger and has been using it longer. Also, a metallic look is nice during a one-time side-by-side comparison, but for something ubiquitous that you see over and over again, you want something flatter and more cartoony like LTC's logo.

+1

You raise fair points. IMO we really need a graphic designer who knows their shit to decide on a set of official graphics. Branding & logo design has a lot of intricacies and it's easy to make mistakes if you're not in the biz. Having said that, the crypto world moves fast and it's not unusual to rebrand down the track. Still early days for DarkCoin.

I'm not sure the D would be confused for doge given the colouring, but considering the official dodge symbol is Ð, it might be good to avoid making the DRK logo look too similar.

It really is. Even if it was all GPUs, and everyone was using the latest and greatest patched SGMiner, you're still talking about a 2-2.2GH/s Scrypt-equivalent for a one month old coin. What have you unleashed EDuffield LOL?

Sorry for newbie question but I have been following this DRK discussion for a little while now and mining DRK in a pool with sgminer. I have previously used cgminer mining another coin and was wondering if it was possible to solo mine DRK with sgminer? If it were some help would be appreciated as it does not seem as straightforward as other coins. Thank you

I just noticed the downwards slash is the opposite to Litecoin's. Nice touch. Smiley

Why does this garbage GPU miner not work on my machine ?

I get error -11

For AMD, use the latest driver.... 13.14 or something like that, not a beta, stable

And the guys that are working constantly on these GPU miners for us are doing a great job, so I take offence to calling them garbage  Undecided  We have a difficult combo of 11 algorithms to deal with.  The coin was designed to make it hard to transport to GPU so that the network could build slowly.  There was a lot of thought that went into this coin, everything for a reason.

Will do thanks, i think I have the old one.
Much appreciate the dedicated and skilled work that goes into each and every line of hard won code.

That's better Smiley  I know it  gets frustrating sometimes and we get grumpy Smiley

Well I've got 13.12, it turns out, do i need the new beta 14.1 ?
In fact I'll just try it anyway.

Using new driver, still big fail. What else do I need ? Windows updates ? Unleaded petrol ? What ?
