Does dash have unit tests? All that code and no test coverage?

Did you even look into the repository? Is that trolling?

https://github.com/dashpay/dash/tree/master/src/test
Enlighten me.. where are the dash unit tests? That is the first place i looked.

Hard to take this project seriously when it has no code coverage. Really? Amateur hour if they didnt write any!

One question

The Dash Team has moved to the offices of a university. Is true?
But They has a company been formed? The location I suppose is in the USA
Where see more info, please?

Cryptanalyst castrated by his government, 1952
Right now crypto is too hard for most of our parents and grandparents to figure out

The ageist platitude is a red herring, imho, and will not serve us well. Mass adoption in the face of strong entrenched interests is the challenge. Crypto must get beyond the fiat chokepoints somehow - centralized exchanges, Bitpay, credit/debit cards, and so forth. Otherwise crypto is stuck as a fiat gateway. Dash's soda machine hints at a desirable future.

Thanks for pointing out my mistake aigeezer, I'll have to rephrase my argument to not point out elderly people but rather those who have yet to find out about cryptocurrencies and the tech that they bring along. Thank you!

Thanks for that, 110110101. Dash forum regulars are very gracious in discussion/debate - it's a pleasure (except for the trolls, of course). To soliloquize - I see the issue as situational rather than dispositional. An older person might have decades of habitually using fiat and earning interest from bank accounts (back in the day). A millennial does not share that experience. Millennials - as a group - apparently have a huge mistrust of banks, as well they should given their typical life history. However, a particular millennial person might be an Economics major fully immersed in fiat-system messaging, or might have bankers for parents, or whatever, causing that person to think and behave differently from "their group". Analysis of group behaviour is useful for, say, targeting ads - playing the odds, but is much less useful in dealing with individual people.

So what?... I think that the human practice of labeling groups of people, while convenient and often useful, limits what one can accomplish. I try not to see the world that way, although I've just done it above by citing "Dash forum regulars" and "the trolls". In effect, I have written off "the trolls" as unsalvageable chronic adversaries, and perhaps they are. However, seeing them that way limits my options. For example, while I don't day-trade crypto, I do use a bot to day-trade for me. It is completely emotionless and trades crypto pairs seeking profit. It often advises me to trade the M-coin as a member of a pair, and I always forbid it to touch the M-coin in any way because of the trolls' behaviour here and elsewhere. My choice costs me profit because of the way I label a group of people. It feels good though, so there's that.     Wink

Anyway, when I see an assertion that "the young" will implement crypto or that "the old will never get it", I see it becoming an excuse to wait for "the young" to do the implementation - not a good methodology, imho. When my generation was "the young" (Woodstock era, roll eyes) we were going to change the world. Instead, we became "the old".

I think Dash has found a very strong enticement for "the old" with its MN incentive payments - 10% interest is what banks used to offer savers in the late 20th century. "The old" are used to that message and they certainly don't hear it from banks any more. So - I get why it is useful to do demographic labelling and grouping. It's a messy game though.

Price is stable around $100 so just waiting for next run when it will touch to new level. DASH would get new ATH very soon and I am quite sure about it.

Right now it's mostly speculators buying crypto. I'm simply referring to those speculators who write, "Why Dash going up? What is news?"

I see.  I forget how many trolls are on here as I have them on ignore, even at the slightest sniff of troll BO.  Even so, they will never buy Dash until they have to pay someone in a currency that's accepted ;P

The visionaries bought Dash a long time ago. And we've now got the very smart people on board. Next up will be the smart money, and that will take us over one billion market cap. After that the dummkopfs pile in and that takes us to ten billion.

Just have to wait..

Pardon my frankness: terrible attitude -- and I mean the 'just have to wait' thing rather than the 'dummkopfs' thing. In the next year or two -- as, for example, the demise of the Eurozone goes from 'Never happen!!' to 'no-brainer!!' -- DASH folk have the opportunity to elbow other cryptos off centre stage by actively assisting friends, family, and colleagues to adopt.

Do it!

I've always tried to keep a BTC node up and running "for the cause", but it sure is slow these days compared to Dash.

This is a good comment (+your other one about 'ageism').

I'd caution people against making adverse comparisons against bitcoin from the point of view of a Dash holder.

There are some great things going on in this project but they can't be decoupled from the success of the cryptocurency concept in general. In particular, consider this:

One of the 3 'biggies' in terms of currency is "unit of measure". i.e. a way to measure value. You don't need fast blockchains, privacy algos, ease of use or any other bells & whistle's to win that battle. You just need a ruler with your units on it.

Right now, the price of every crypto in the entire world is measured in bitcoin. That is the only non-national denomination available to exchanges that they're comfortable with and it's only proliferating. So regardless of marketcap, blockchain features, ease of use or anything else, bitcoin is going to survive and ostenstibly consolidate as the world's reserve crypto, even if another coin out-does it on marketcap.

This has implications for value because when 'profits' are taken, they will be taken in Bitcoin, not Dash since the 'value' of Dash will continue to be measured in bitcoin. (Unless we can convince all exchanges to re-price everything in Dash which seems unlikely).

There are precedents for this. The UK currency denomination is the pound sterling, but a pound of silver is worth far more than 1 pound sterling. Same with the "Dollar", same with the "Peseta", "Peso" etc.

Another thing: The crypto industry is going to start to be dependent on mutually complimetary assets. For example Tether (or Bitshare assets like BitUSD) will be needed by deflationary blockchains like Dash to trade in units of national currencies. Even XMR (a.k.a. Trollero) will be needed for certain encryption-prioritised purposes. Everything will be useful for everything else, contrary to the tribal narratives found in abundance on bitcointalk.

Other assets that we like to call "sh* coins" will be needed as hedges to larger assets. For example now that Dash has made the masternode concept popular and acceptable, cheaper ones are becoming available for investors that want to share in the experience of what Dash has gone through.

Bottom line: The assets that will survive this financial revolution will be the ones that add value to their industry peers, not the ones that trounce them.
