i still cant grasp the utility of this thing,  i guess its another bling-bling of innovation that Dash can buy with its massive funding budget.

And the “massive funding budget” surely comes from “bling-bling of innovation”?  Huh

Dash is one of my favorite altcoin, I already have about 80 Dash since the first time I bought at the price of 0.008 in October 2015. Until now, I never sell. Hope the price could reach or exceed the highest price in August 2016.

good hope for the best ......time will take turn for good people who have faith in effort.

In layman's terms, an API is a bridge that lets two computer programs talk to each other. In order for a merchant to accept Dash right now, they need to run their own full node, handle their own wallet.dat files, manually process all transactions, etc. No merchants have any interest in doing that, nor does it scale.

Merchants that accept crypto use APIs provided by companies like blockcypher, and these APIs handle all the heavy lifting. The merchant just puts a "Pay with Dash" button on their website, and blockcypher's API actually interacts with the blockchain and sends the transactions on the network. The API basically does all the "back office" stuff so that a merchant can just accept Dash and not have to worry about the technical nitty gritty details of how it works.

EDIT: If you go to Walmart, does the cashier take your credit card, call the number on the back of the card and verify your account balance? Then ask the person over the phone to please authorize a transaction for $x? No, of course not. Walmart has a pin pad and back office computer system that does all that--slide your card and the software queries the payment networks and handles all the heavy lifting. The cashier just sees "approved" or "declined."

This looks like a good move and means businesses and developers can confidently start building on top of DASH without having to wait for the DAPI to be released Shocked

Very nice!
Only thing: i can't install it on chrome with more than one digit after the point. For example:

Now it is at 19.48

I get 19. ..... (even with 2 digits)
19.5 ofc if i want to exclude cents Sad

In practice, not enough room

Hi

Uninstall the widget, and reinstall it from the store. It's an issue with the localStorage (where preference data are saved), by reinstall it, the localStorage will be cleaned up (only for this widget), and then it will works again.
Really sorry about it.

I still get the same issue Sad

It must be rather discouraging for these trolls when they mention masternode owners cashing-out would
collapse the price, when in fact it does not seem to have any significant effect on the price.

Ofcourse it also does not help them that a decrease in number of masternodes just means that masternodes are changing hands through
Dash extensive access to OTC markets (Wall of Coins), giving it additional liquidity. And then we have a major new exchange
coming up with FIAT pairs that will also help with liquidity.

That as well as most of us realize that a MN is like a gold mine. Continuous payments for providing services to the network - why the hell would we sell it? I am going to live off mine.

Same here  Wink

My prediction for 2017 is Dash is Top 3 by years end!

If trolls work hard, maybe we can get Top 2  Cheesy

... and like clockwork the price ticks up as soon as they flood message the board  Grin Keep it coming guys... You've just paid for my new Audi over the last 2 days  Kiss

Yup...thanks to these trolls hard work...our value has gone through the roof.  I'm seriously looking at a '14 Ferrari California http://www.augustmotorcars.com/used/Ferrari/2014-Ferrari-California-646e32d00a0e08f749294b11d5b88e5b.htm to hang out our new race track right that opened right next to our winery... http://www.area27.ca/

Its an amazing course....check out the virtual tour. We'll see if I can pass that by the wife Wink, the car that is. Any DASH Nation peeps coming up this way...drop me a line. Wink

In the mean time....Thanks butt hurt Trelleros!   Keep up the good work in increasing our awareness.

PS.  Of course we all really know its been the hard work of many DASH Nation peeps and great dev team, with a professional attitude and some very dedicated people.  In no way do I wish to minimize the massive amount of hard you all have done.  Cheers DASH team!

the problem is that if you dump enough DASH to buy the car, there won't be much bid support left. Some small masternode holders will be able to cashout before DASH implodes completely.

My advice: buy that car asap.
I have 5 cars. Anybody give me some DASH for few?

I am still waiting for you to prove that Evan had the MN concept in mind before he shared it here. It should be impossible to prove unless you can read his mind. But you got caught in this logical trap by yourself, no one forced you Grin And even if he did then I don't see anything drastic here.

I love the troll argument "he knew what he was planning so he unfairly invested in his product." I would certainly assume that he had some idea of what he'd like to do, and some direction he wanted to take the currency. Isn't that the case with any founder? You think Satoshi was just bored one day and decided to bang out some code with no real purpose in mind?

Everybody forgets January 2014, but I remember it vividly since it was the month I really started getting active in crypto (sadly, I wouldn't discover Dash until June of that year). In early 2014, everybody was promising the moon. You had Counterparty that was going to build this major product on top of Bitcoin (now #28 by marketcap). You had Nxt, which was going to be Bitcoin 2.0 (now #37 by marketcap). You had a couple of other flavor-of-the-month projects, like Blackcoin (#60) or Auroracoin (#100). You had eMunie, which after three years of development STILL never did launch. To my knowledge, the only successful projects to come out of the early 2014 period were Dash, Monero (props guys), and Ethereum (the idea was announced in January 2014 although the ICO didn't happen until late summer). MaidSafe came a little later, but we can count them too.

So out of the hundreds of projects that were begun in early 2014, perhaps four of them were successful. If Evan really had the foresight to know that his project would be one of the four that actually survived/thrived, and he invested accordingly, then more power to him!

Keep trolling boys!!! I'm warming up my garage for that new addition I'm buying.  Love you guys... Though I can't see your posts, I'm sure it's trolling of some sort...

You are DASH's lucky charms! It must be so disheartening to see that your feeble whimpering is doing nothing but drive us up.  So so sad.  Cool

Pretty much half the monero dev team community is on here trollin'

 Cheesy

Soooo boring

I didn't get, btw, why the fact that Evan could have been thinking of Masternodes as an issue. It was something that changed (and is changing) the market.

So, if he had it in mind early or thinking of it after some sort of "Back to the future" happening while cleaning the kitchen, i don't care. Bless he did.

Thank you for thinking of MNs, Evan!

According to Arielbits valuable research, and I'm paraphrasing, it does matter because Evan the Instaminer scammed everyone with the instamine. He then diabolically conceived masternodes almost at the beginning as a way to keep his scam going forever from masternode income, and it was all premeditated and he didn't tell us about masternodes until he had to. And dash is a scam. And it was instamined.

Meanwhile Icebreaker is concerned about IPv6 not being available to masternodes. He does care.

Smooth is also worried, I think about the cost of a masternode but for some reason won't consider sharing payments from one based on shared collateral.

you forgot an important piece of statement..."Evan's masternode plans is his motivation to orchestrate the instamine"

Evan's motivation to do the instamine proves that it never was an accident.
