If the only contribution to the thread you can make is an ambiguous comment on my "tone"

You forgot to accuse him of using "attack the attacker" antiphons in response to your dulcet internet timbre resonating from the new "IPv4 vs IPv6" brand of  exposition you've opened up.

I myself am not technically qualified enough to do an appraisal on that subject, but I am quite musical so will listen with interest and see what elucidative harmonics I can dig Wink

Awesome finally upgraded to 12.1

Many thanks for all the help I received here.

I had a few little things threw me off course: masternode.conf file had an error, I also had a typo in remote dash.conf, and externalip line was missing the port number (I think that might need to be fixed in the guide) and few other little things I was doing in wrong order which I see has now been fixed in the guide too. My cron log for the sentinel thing is blank, which I assume is what you want. Anyway, all good, thanks again

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
You changed your tone aSSBREAKER.

In other words, you have no explanation for why IPv6 is broken in today's craptastic 12.1 "upgrade" and can't defend Dash's negative progress in network diversity/diffuseness.

It's 2017, and Dash has no IPv6 support despite being forked from Bitcoin, which fully supports it.  Welcome back to 2010.   Tongue

If the only contribution to the thread you can make is an ambiguous comment on my "tone" and a silly insult, I feel sorry for you.

Why don't you try addressing the content of my post instead of straining to hear tones over the internet and calling childish names?

Why weren't Masternodes allowed to vote on whether or not to disable IPv6 and thereby kick 140 of their own off the network?

Is that how "distributed democracy by blockchain" is supposed to work?

What's the point of Dash's governance structure and voting when it's funding scams while Evan makes all the important decisions?

Masternodes should be allowed to annonce ipv4 addresses only from now

See ^^that?  Pretending this is no big deal only demonstrates what liars and charlatans Dash pumpers are.

The hubris of people who believe Dash may overtake Bitcoin while Evan can't even keep IPv6 working is unbelievable.

Bitcoin would never kick all its IPv6 nodes off the network, for reasons obvious to everyone except Evan Scamfield and his cargo cult.

Wow, reports show that 70% of miners are already on 12.1!  That's amazing!

gekos are you following the wiki tutorial?

Yes, working off of this page:

It did not ask me to rebuild the block index

it will only ask you to re index if start the wallet using the old block chain from your old dash folder ,,,,, did you copy and rename your old "dash" folder to "Dash Core" and delete the the files it contained the guide told you too ?

I started updating last night but got stuck on some mn misconfiguration, in my local wallet that reports the old IP of my master node, even though I specified the new ip in masternode.conf and dash.conf. I'll have to remove the old cache files and try again.

My question though, is with the new and improved wallet, can i add several masternodes to the same cold wallet?
I was thinking about loading the masternode private keys to the cold wallet, so I can control them from one wallet rather than multiple (2).

I already have the transaction ids and private keys from my old configs, is that enough to put these in the cold wallet masternode.conf and dash.conf files? Any tips or guide on how to achieve this kind of setup?

If not I'll have to resort to running multiple cold wallets, although I was hoping to not have to do that.

You could do that with the previous version also  Wink

Great, thanks for the link @BrainShutdown, I'll have to take a closer look and get this working. Kudos and have a great day!

hi, i went 12.1 guide step by step and everything looks ok.
dash-cli mnsync status returns :
{
"AssetID": 999,
"AssetName": "MASTERNODE_SYNC_FINISHED",
"Attempt": 0,
"IsBlockchainSynced": true,
"IsMasternodeListSynced": true,
"IsWinnersListSynced": true,
"IsSynced": true,
"IsFailed": false
}

dash-cli masternode debug returns:
Masternode successfully started

venv/bin/python bin/sentinel.py returns nothing (like it should be).

But in dashninja.pl i see my masternode is inactive.
Is it something wrong with tha site or my masternode is not working? How can i be sure my masternode is working and active 100%?
thanks

EDIT: I guess it is site, now my masternode is active na 100% Smiley

Finally got my masternodes working.  Almost 24 hours to get the first one going, then only 30 minutes for the next.  Not bad at all.

'bout what it took me, except I went to bed after giving up, then this morningish/later I started over, and a clearer head made all the difference Cheesy

There was too much anticipation on Sunday, and the antsiness made me make mistakes, LOL

Poor @$$breaker has nothing better to do.  So much development going on with DASH, while the lead XMR shill is sipping cocktails (and not the gym) in Mexico LOLOL.

It did not ask me to rebuild the block index

So you are updating a wallet for normal use, not masternodes, right?  Then you should get a window that asks you if you want to reindex and you choose yes, right?

if you are using dashd instead of dash-qt, then you really should simply start it " dashd -reindex"

I'm wondering if my problems are in the masternode.conf file, or the local dash.conf perhaps. Anyone know where can i find info about how to configure masternode.conf (and dash.conf) on the local wallet ?

Thanks

Have you tried this tutorial?
https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DOC/Updating+to+12.1+-+Masternodes

Or Tao has one starting from scratch?

Yes, my update guide removes the entire .dash and .cache folders, eliminating any residual feedback from old installations. A clean install of 12.1 is easier for dummies like me!

What directory should wallet.dat be in.  Ubuntu 16.04

it should be in /home/you/.dashcore

It's in there but seems to be picking up a different wallet

Make sure your wallet is named wallet.dat?  Sorry so late!

Maybe I have to re scan the wallet
