Now, the reason given to have 10000 block reward 5b in the new year was for security. Now since security is taken care of with AuxPow why cant the block reward be reduced to 5000 or so which would give a near perfect 2.5% annual inflation.

ASIC manufacturers have a great business from this, cause many people are convinced to buy them to "save" dogecoin, or something like that. Absolutely. Securing the coin from the assholes who want to destroy/exploit it is the immediate concern.
This was a concern for investors months ago that went unaddressed.
The devs should give what the OP said with the cap @ 100 bil since mining will no longer be a issue.... can't really use that bullshit argument any more, but I'm going to stick with Jackson wants to see it fail for whatever reason.

I don't think that the new update will do muck good n the price either. I feel like the developers tried to favor the minres but didn't find a good enough way to protect the price from falling and recreate interest. Merged mining will not atract investor interest, instead powerful miners will jump in and start dumping coins. Makes me even happier I sold @ ~200 sat.

This would have been great 2 months ago but it is too late right now to make a turn around IMO. It should allow the coin to maintain it's current position once there are some piggybackers. It's a shame the DEV's had less foresight then just about every other coin out there.
This coin has the best community (except noble in my opinion:which is too small) and should be able to maintain for years to come. I just can't see this as being a move towards growth. I really have no faith in the DEVS. But I am still a bag holder because of the community.
