Just my opinion:
Greedyness is higher than buysupport. I still don't like this aggressive daytrading, everyone is just looking for the fast money. EAC needs better arguments to withstand this shitheads. We need to wait for Incryptex and more shops, more people to acknowledge and to adopt this coin.
I think this needs time, luck, more work of the community and more work from the dev's.
We have 150 coins out there and everyone claims to have THE coin of the future. They will all die except those with a real goal and a real structure.
Maybe Earthcoin doesn't have that structure, community and "headquater".... we will see.

and that's just what I can remember in 5 minutes
Oh, and here is what I can remember in 5 minutes
1) Original algorithm for mining where block rewards go along a sine curve varying along with the seasons forcing creating a boom-bust cycle of supply and demand. Hint: We are in the high-supply stage:

What usually ends up happening is that the people mining Earthcoin more steadily tend to see better payouts, and one the bonus days, more miners coming splitting the rewards many more ways so the distribution base of Earthcoin widens. Also, this causes Earthcoin to get noticed by miners on bonus days so as to retain mindshare. We also support sending messages with transactions through the blockchain. This is more apparent in the v1.2 wallet.
2) Vulnerability for Gravity Well from multipools. I think you misunderstand the subject a little bit (or if I do, please share your info). Kimoto's Gravity well was something that was designed to *resist* gravity pools. This is an algorithm that smooths out changes in mining difficulty for coins that retarget every X-amount of blocks (like every two weeks for example). Earthcoin retargets difficulty EVERY BLOCK with a block target time of a minute. Kimoto's gravity well is just an algorithm to to make other coins that don't retarget every block act this way. That means if Multipools come in and increase the net hash rate and jump to another coin, it does take longer than usual to find the next block (as all the remaining miners are left to deal with the greater difficulty), but it effectively does the same as the KGW implementation but it is more efficient. If someone with more technical knowledge can prove me wrong, go right ahead and maybe we will implement a gravity well solution, but with single-block retargeting, we should already have multipool resistance. The gravity well and single block difficulty retargeting solve the same problem in different ways.

I sent out the first round of e-mails earlier this week. Please note that I have not ported the form over to the new site design yet, but now that the new site is finished, Team development will be my focus (and apparently community management as well). Honestly, spreading all this FUD and forcing responses is taking time away from those tasks, but that is probably you intent anyway as I am sure most people don't go into other coin threads just to be negative unless they have some sort of agenda.
4) Read back a few pages.
Also, for everyone who says "fork to Scrypt-jane or Scrypt Adaptive-N" I see that this post keeps getting lost as well.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5373252That is a post asking for these features and more. We want to limit the amount of hard forks we do as they can be damaging and chaotic, so we want to maximize the amount of changes we build in at once.
We need more developers to help out with this task, and we need the community to follow the example of market leaders like bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin, etc. Those communities are not relying on Satoshi to move forward.
Also, it sounds like some of the people feel like the devs are not responding to their private messages. While maybe they have trouble keeping up with all the messages, let me say that I am available. You can PM me here, on Earthcointalk, or on reddit (/u/zark23). I can't claim to be immune to missing a message here or there, but I don't mind gentle reminders and follow ups. I have a full time job and personal life to balance as well (as I am sure most people do) and already, Earthcoin has taken up a great deal of my time because I feel like it can go somewhere and that I have skills to take it to the next level. You do too. We all do in some way and they don't have to be technical.
BTW, I think we all like "ideas" but don't be scared to take initiative on those ideas. To my knowledge, the one time where this hasn't worked out (and that was the unfortunate incident with quorom and the wikicompany marketplace) and we are going to try and find someway to resolve it.
