And please, this is the most incorrect thing Ive read in years. Time is for sure not the same for everyone. The speed of light is, thats it..... sorry for offtopic.. but it hurts to read that.

Sorry, but that was the whole point.

ITS NOT !

The countdown shows 9 hours FOR ME !  In Australia its already 2x day then. In USA it shows 15 hours and so on.......doh!

No you dont understand..... Miners in Australia get shown that the 2x day is in 20 minutes from now on... in Germany 11 Hours...
Maybe some miners want to throw in some extra hashes at the right time.

Does that matter?  It doesnt matter where you are, the thing starts at the same moment for everybody. So wheter you 're in Samoa or Greenland, it's all the same waitingperiod.

yeah, the countdown is useless unless the guy making it adjusts it so all miners worldwide get the same hours/time shown...

for me in EU it is 9h, but I know that EAC started at 5 am or so, since I started solo mining right at the first minute (but I was very tured, so I might be off on an hour or so)

I'd be interested in:  does EAC use the US date or a real xxx days after launch calculated by using it's exact launch hour?

Its based on the unix timestamp.  The first mined block was December 21 at 1am or so.   1387588200 or so in unix (these are rough, not exact). add 14 days to that adn you get 1388797800. Convert that to your local time zone and your set!

I give a shit about how much EAC the devs hold.

I care about their investment into the currency, into EAC.

I want signs that they are here for the long haul. not for a quick buck.

the whole premine /transparency discussion is just pure envy and greed. someone that is not you is about to make a lot of money. DEAL WITH IT. did you make a coin and hire people to program, market it, do community work?
no? then stfu. otherwise, why are you here?

so as long as I see the devs INVESTED into their own product and ACTIVELY doing stuff and getting the word out, I am content.

as soon as this changes, I'm out and so should you.

right now, it seems EAC is a great inventment, imho

not sure if I need to unlock, or if it's necessary, my EAC wallet for cgminer solo-mining?
I did the walletpassphrase input - but pops a -1 error..

I think it's pretty obvious at this point that earthcoin intends not to provide such information. Whether this is because they really are going to dump at some point and cash out, or because they don't want to spend the time accounting for it, is unclear, but they won't be publishing the accounts.

I would imagine that one good reason to not have 100% transparency of the premine is that the devs are aware of the need for some of the coins to be used as baksheesh/Bribes in order to grease the wheels ect.......

Not very discreet to pay a bribe then publish the details online for everyone to see.

The devs are experienced in this new field as has been pointed out many times already a successful coin is worth more in the long term than a quick pump and cashout.
dont forget Bitcoin had a hefty premine as well that was used to promote the coin in the early days , depending how much is left someone could be still be sitting on tens of millions of dollars worth of BTC and seeing as what the coin has achieved in it short life I for one have no problem with that at all.

ok - many coins being mined - but otoh the earth is big and if they want the coin to be big amongst people on the streets there need to be many coins available..

Why is premine still such a buzz here?  Roll Eyes
Everyone knew what amount is premined, so please dont talk about it all over again.. Whoever is comfortable with premine, likes EAC, mine EAC doesnt see any problem with that (like me)
Whoever has problem with premine, just dont mine EAC, dont speculate with that, just leave it and dont talk about it here over and over again..
Seems to me, all premine complainers cant just stand up value rise of EAC "despite" of its premine and so all their effort now goes to tell us all how bad premine was and how devs will dump everything Smiley))
This times is just hard to create new alt which wont be forgotten days after its launch, because it has no support.. all decentralised currencies also mean supported by nobody.. nobody is actually responsible for any further developement so nobody gives a f**k.. here because devs have some coins, they can support it, and it is their and us common interest to see development of EAC, only that value can rise further.

For me EAC is very good coin for 2014 and have my full support.. I am mining it and buying every day bit more, not selling anything, because with support it has, it can appear in some interesting apps soon rising its value further etc..

Moon, CAT, even doge doesnt have it.. only doge is maybe bit close with its huge teenage fans base, but thats all..

Since morning, value of EAC 20% UP Smiley
these guys are building an exchange, have a huge team and expenses. stop bickering about premine.

if you don't like it, you're free to leave.

and to those morons complaining about price drops: it has not dropped overall. it is down from the peak. how entitled and lazy do you have to be to expect 100% gains EVERY DAMN DAY?

Asking for explanations and information is NOT a "complain" . Its smart investing.

So please dont be angry with me if make this very short comment on your posts.
There are two kinds of people in this forum.

1. People, who dont really care about what they are investing in.
2. People who do.

Thanks for comment and happy new year!

I am more worried about how fast new coins are produced and its downward pressure to the price. Premine is meh at this point.
