So supposedly this is a POS block but if we assume the .011 is transaction fees, by coincidence it managed to reward EXACTLY the same amount as a POW block?  Does that seem plausible?

It's not a block that rewards proof-of-stake, it's a stake-modifier block (as indicated).

why ? there's really no reason to do so : l
when people invested in this coin , they took into consideration when pow would end etc , we cant just remove it.

Just get the block explorer up then we can have a closer look at the whole chain.

Is POS working or not?
Doesn't look like it, if sockpuppet posted the correct coin supply.

I see POS blocks in the blockchain. You can check for yourself with the usual RPC commands to the wallet from console. There just aren't a lot of them so far -- only three in the past 600 blocks: block 1725, 2025, and 2313.

The indicator of a stake block is that it shows: "flags" : "proof-of-work stake-modifier" in the getblock call.

Here's block 2313:

Code:
getblockhash 2313

I just want to explain the Proof of Stake system to the best of my abilities.  I will ask IPOminer.com to verify that what I say has merit, he knows very much about this system.

Your network weight is gaining regardless, and you will begin to compete with the PoW blocks more competitively.  The 42 day max stake age makes it so there is your maximum weight distributed over 6 weeks, if that had been 6 days you would gather more weight faster and compete harder.  This does not mean you are losing on coins because you are all competing for coin age (weight) and this will eventually be strong enough to overtake some PoW blocks.

In our testing of this coin we did not have such pentahash power, we used some rental and Bitmantech Antmining S3.  I will think about forking this coin, but I have never tested to see if coin age gets reset after a fork.  We did not take that into consideration during testing.  We put 6 week max coin age because we know in your real world lives sometimes things come unexpected and you may have to leave your computer for up to a month and we thought it would be fair to not punish that.

If everyone would like to fork, and if other blockchain professional knows if coin age does not get reset during fork, I will give you all notice so that you can get all your coins into compiled wallets, probably 1 full day.

As long as POS don't eventually win only after day 22 Smiley

Haha that make me laugh, yes you are right.  I promise 8% per day but I might be a few days late on the promise - no problem though.  If the POS does not pick up, I will either cut POW short, or fork this in a couple days to decrease the maximum stake age.  I will let this discussion happen throughout today while block explorer and advertising portal is being designed.

Still not a single person has staked.  Clearly this is a bigger issue than just PoS competing with PoW.

Hopefully we can get a fix ASAP, as I purchased and mined coins based on estimations I made on my total share of coins after factoring in compounded interest and PoW blocks being removed from the supply.  Thats all kinda thrown off now.

Really?  The nethash is 2.2 PH/s.  There isn't enough people staking to even come close to competing with that. Even if everyone staked that is mining, the stake weight wouldn't come close.  When PoW comes closer to an end and less people mine then PoS will be better.  This is not a problem with the coin, or a problem at all.  This is by design.

I understand the competition from PoW blocks, but something still seems wrong here.  I don't really know the exact calculations necessary to quantify the effect that a 2.2 PHs network has on PoS.  I'm assuming you don't either so you can't just say "the stake weight wouldn't come close" without anything to back up that statement.  I'll eat my words if I am wrong, but just saying that I hope our dev knows what he is doing, because it won't bode well for confidence in the coin if we all wait and wait and it turns out there really was an issue with staking that doesn't get fixed for another few days.  All I know is I have held countless POW/POS coins, many with extremely large POW networks, but I have never seen a coin so stubborn to stake before.

Do you remember 10k ? last day difficulty come to 640 000, but the reward was 1. I think that this coin has tooooo high difficulty to properly give a reward on stake, so I think that POS interest work well, counting 8% interest and when POW end, we will get our rewards ! I'm staking, and I don't have intention to sell my coins for this price ! So just patience Wink
The POS ROI as it is known varies depending on the net hashrate and POS difficulty. It can be anywhere in preassigned 8% range given that there wouldn't be that much POW blocks popping up literally every minute. With that hashrate (personally i could see 661TH so far) coin is kinda resilient to inflation. When POW is over, its in danger of being squeezed out by its shareholders. Wink
