@ DEV, how are you going to distribute to the population of roughly 17,000,000 people?

Do the Dutch have an ID card, as the Spain coin DEV is using the national ID card and scanning them with smart card readers.

Could you go into detail as to how you intend to do this?

As a strong supporter of Auroracoin and being a Dutchman I obviously had to look at this. I do see some big challenges along the way for this to succeed though.

First we are talking 17 Million residents and only 10.5 million distributable coins. This means in case dev's do the miracle of airdropping and verifying all 17 million citizens, they end up with 0,6 gulden each. To give you a frame of reference, that used to buy you half a leaf of bread 20 years ago...

I do think however that many Dutchmen are opposed to the Euro and long to get their Gulden back. But to get this right, you need to adept into the frame of reference of the Dutch. And this is why I think this can only work when you drop a couple of billions on them, not half a leaf of bread each.

Also the verification is something that simply will not work if the "reward" is only 0.6 Gulden. People are simply not going to go through the trouble of copying or scanning two electrical bills for that small amount. Also verifying this means manual labour. How much work would manually verifying 17 million scans be? I can tell you, it will take 1000 people years if they do it fulltime! Not to mention that most addresses house on average 4 persons. The only way to do this in a fair way (like in Iceland) is to use their social security number (BSN). And this is in no way as transparent and accessible as the Icelandic system!

This is why I stick with Auroracoin, 330.000 easily electronically verifiable Icelanders is something that can be done. Also the "reward" to get $ 400+ worth of coins is something people will likely go for. Getting 17 million (fairly wealthy) Dutchmen to proclaim their half leaf of bread is something else!

That doesn't mean that I am not in favor of the initiative to create a Dutch Gulden again, I only think it needs to be approached in a different way.

I see your point as to the price, it needs to hit a market cap of a few hundred million to be viable for the Dutch to actually want to claim it. We'll have to wait and see what the market cap ends up like.

I'd would also say that a fair way of doing distribution is to use the social security number, we'll have to wait on the DEV to see what his plans are.

My price prediction: 1 BTC = 2.20371 EFL  Grin

That's a very accurate prediction Grin I hope you are right as I just bought 3400, I'd be well happy with 0.01, which I think is very doable Smiley

2.20371 was the exchange rate from the old NLG to EUR Wink
Would be awesome if it went that high, my 3K would make me rich!

But as I said earlier, paying anything above 0 satoshi right now would be foolish as long as devs are hodling the premine.

how long does it take to arrive to bittrex, 45 confirms on wallet, but still doesnt appear on bittrex.
TY

I have the same problem. Yesterday transfers went superfast, now after three hours still nothing with 362 confirms?!?!

i mailed them, no reponse yet, have you got any reponse?

I'm not sure why the confirms as so high, but I wouldn't worry about Bittrex, they have proved them to be legit, I'd just though i'd throw that in to ease peoples minds, just in case people were freaking out.

Yes, i know they are trustable, i  used them for more coins
