Our good friend GrumpyTiger is experimenting with a solar-powered Pine64 staking EverGreenCoin. He is wrapped up with some personal matters, but he said I could share his picture with the community.

I've been doing a bit more work on a possible solar staker setup using a C.H.I.P. small computer. This is a low powered Linux computer (similar to the original Raspberry Pi in performance) but comes with built in storage, wifi, bluetooth and battery controller. I've been running a wallet on this device for just over a month and it seems to have been working well and generating some coins through staking. It's also coped with going offline and loosing power a few times as the battery gets drained.

Obviously to be useful as a solar staker it needs to be able to run from solar power, and keep running from a battery when there's not enough solar energy. I've started some work on this by testing a couple of different lipo cells. With one battery I've tested I'm able to get around 16 hours of runtime and it took around half the time to re-charge. I've got some more tests to do about recharge rates to see if it can be charged faster if given enough power. I'm currently waiting on a couple of small solar panels and hope to get some idea of what might be required once those arrive. Obviously solar output will depend on time of year and location so won't be the same for everyone.

There's also some talks happening behind the scenes about how it should be possible to use this solar staker with some ideas for providing a local web interface as well as the possibility for a small LCD screen. I've also been looking at how things like battery state can be queried from code and as I get anything useful I'll try and integrate that into the IRC bot that runs on this same CHIP.

I am very excited about CHIP and that my CHIP will ship next week. I have opened communication with the manufacturer of CHIP in regards to a possible bulk order in the near future.

Sounds fascinating... I'm making a note to talk to Steven to see if there is anything further perhaps the website can do to assist or crowdfund R & D.

As a web developer of EGC I just bought myself 5000 EGC @ 5500 sats at Bittrex (www.bittrex.com). The price of our coin is pretty low at the moment considering other coins and competition...

To put this into perspective...

Take for example, NAUTILUSCOIN (NAUT) and their website http://www.nautiluscoin.com/

Nautilus Coin's website just says "more info coming soon"...

There's nothing else really on the website except for active links to social media:
Twitter: https://twitter.com/Nautiluscoin
and
Google+: https://plus.google.com/117405692521604669165/posts

Nautiluscoin vs EverGreenCoin basic comparison 30 August 2016 AEST (Australia) GMT +10:00 hrs:

NAUT Total Available Supply: 12.734M coins
NAUT Price: 130000 Satoshis

EGC Total Available Supply: 13.08M coins
EGC Price: 5500 Satoshis

Considering EGC has traded as high as 73k sats before in early August

And considering what the new EGC website will provide in terms of coin support and useful community information...

EGC price is very, very cheap right now.

Steven, when you get a chance, please check your VoIP messaging for a note from me requesting whether we can go ahead to using that particular management account for Google Online Services.

Devs said that he is waiting until the new website is ready to do some promotions.
Once we get some of the projects ready we should see some growth.

It might take some months but personally I am fine with that. Things take time to build, especially when we dont have one of those big ICO budgets.

Yes, we have advertising paid for and waiting to launch after the new website is launched. We want to put our best foot forward for the new eyes that the advertising will bring in.

I guess EGC will break through to 200 sat  Grin Grin Grin
and I think it will hit 1 sat soon Grin Do I care about some kiddo speculating? Not at all.

So where are we going exactly then? EGC is stable between 6k -7k from quite a few days & not showing any signs of going up anymore?

We need Good Volume in order to get listed on Poloniex but still no signs of improvement in the Volume at the Exchanges.

Let's see what happens from here on.

I got my 6k buy orders in overnight. The developments so far look pretty good. Polo didn't add any coins for a while - but just pulled about 30, hopefully that means that there will be space for more in the future.

based on charts, it could take 3-6 months for another spike...
