i get 4-5 coins a day too, using 3 cores with my old cpu. even the difficulty is still low.

Embarrassingly slow. E7400 (2 threads) 4GB RAM
It's too old modern, you should change the CPU or your wallet cannot reach a coin. My CPU is 8100 and I usually get 7 per day.

Just wondering what pools you'd recommend for mining with a low-end PC. In Europe, if that makes much difference.

Do you mean regulation of cryptocurrencies or total prohibition and criminal punishment? States are forced to regulate cryptocurrency, otherwise its uncontrolled spread may affect the sovereignty and operation of Central banks. What is beneficial to a person is not always beneficial to the state.
