Has been many updates in the new website:

You can see in https://blog.fair.coop/
we are very active on news this last days with the campaign about 1 euro = 1 faircoin

Also there is special offers now in the marketplace https://market.fair.coop

An excellent coin. Bitrex is not a very convenient exchange. Add to the new stock exchanges please.

I got the following error when the new faircoin2 wallet tried to read the wallet.dat from the older verison.

Error reading wallet.dat! All Keys read correctly, but transaction data or address book entries might be missing or incorrect

I did not get any such errors with the old wallet and it opened up fine.

Please help
You should not manually copy the old wallet.dat file over. Instead, just make sure the old wallet.dat is located at the FairCoin1 default location: ~/.FairCoin/wallet.dat and that there is no wallet.dat file at the new location: ~/.faircoin2/wallet.dat. Once you have these files in the right place start the FairCoin2 wallet and it will automatically convert and copy the wallet.dat for you.

Further information can be found here: https://github.com/faircoin/faircoin/wiki/FairCoin2-migration-FAQ (scroll all the way down to the last two paragraphs for your particular issue)

I am in the same boat. I have some Faircoins from an old wallet last updated on 05/2014 and looking to see if there is anyway to recover them and move to an exchange.

any help would be really appreciated

Thanks

you can update to faircoin 2, just by downloading the same wallet, on the new version on your computer
https://download.faircoin.world
it should detect your /.faircoin folder, and get the private key for giving you access

What with listing Faircoin on new exchange like Binance or Cryptopia. Bittrex has problems plus no withdrawal without verification. We have now more popular markets than year ago.

Yes you are right it would not be bad to see this coin on another convenient exchange.

bad week for faircoin...  from 0.00014 to 0.000110.
It probably people finding out their coins gained value that sell them off?

Haha, this is only because of BTC growth.
And FAIR is one of the most stable coins in Crypto vs. the EURO
I wouldn't worry yet Wink

lets see if there is a buying pressure when BTC eventually crashes.  If not you will see value faircoin plummet.

this (actually to 116 or 12)  is mostly  because bitcoin growth which went from 7000 to mroe than 8000 in same period

still of course, to be around all time high for a while, influences selling pressure.

yes, after the first fork, faircoop recover all unused faircoins from airdrop and give users option to take them before moving to faircoin 2 (more than 1.5 years).
who that not collect his coins in recover time can't to collect them now.

It almost happened to me. I've been around since first airdrop, and was able to recover my coins in the last days...

I think this should not happen. When you leave you money somewhere, if you don't touch it, you won't expect that just because you haven't move it, someone thought it should be right to take them from you

1) I think it happened because developers did not want to have a lot of lost coins.
2) You can not complain, the choice of this currency was made because of his name and not because of the people who received coins from him. So that faircoin2 is actually a new currency for everything. And if the developers did not choose this currency, it would not be worth anything today.
3) You should tell them thank you that they gave a long time to recover the coins.
4) Thank you Devs and I really belive in FairCoin Cheesy

Hello everyone!
I have 2 Faircoin addresses which originally contained 1000 coins each from the free distribution in March 2014. However these coins were recovered in the February 2015 1.5 update because I left my wallet unused  Embarrassed
I know it has been over two years, but... is there any chance I could get the coins back? I have the private keys and I can send a signed message to prove ownership.

I received 5 faircoins during airdrop. I don't really remember how many faircoins I had before. That 5 fairs must be the airdrop. When I started new wallet, my coins from old wallet.dat showed up. I didn't touch that wallet.dat since 2014. Try installing latest faircoin wallet and start it. It automatically migrated my old coins to new wallet from appdata faircoin folder. This how my appdata folder looks like with two faircoin folders together.

You could clearly see wallet.dat was created in 2014. I was away from crypto world for 3 years and got back in recently. Then I found out I lost lots of coins because they went from POW to POS etc. Add to that cryptsy exchange.  Smiley Recovering your 1000 coins would be really great.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion, but the coins were taken from my wallet, as you can see from the blockchain:
https://chain.fair-coin.org/a/fJ89jtysvr
https://chain.fair-coin.org/a/fZyi9znTfN

So my wallet.dat is empty  Cry
