How do I start minting with Faircoin? I have on my wallet receiving transactions almost from a month ago and still nothing is happening.
I looked around the web and there was a suggestion that you need to encrypt your wallet first. Is that true?
30/90 days min/max weightI don't know about encrypting, but you need at least 30 days coin age for minting to start -aka-
your coins have to be in your wallet for at least 30 days. After 30 days you'll start minting (generating new coins). You'll can mint for 60 days, ti'll 90 days coin age.
it doesn't stop at max age. Max age is just that your coins are not getting more weight, so let's say you have 1000 FAC for 21 days, the weight is 21000, this is maxed out at
90 days. So the weight of those 1000 FAC at 90 days = 90000.
the weight is used to compared mature blocks (older than 21 days) among each other. It also gives the chance to smaller blocks to eventually stake. Simple math will tell you that smaller blocks will take more time then bigger blocks to stake because their weight will necessarily be smaller at the same age (days).
1000 FAC at 21 days = 21000 weight
10000 FAC at 21 days = 210000 weight
Passed the 90 days mark, you DON'T lose interest and you will still stake at some point, it's just that the weight will not grow any further.
for instance,
1000 FAC at 90 days = 90000 weight
1000 FAC at 100 days = 90000 weight
