Making another altcoin wont help Tongue

Already too many of them and people are starting to get angry about all those scam100%preminedcoins
So none of a small altcoins will not rise value now.

I'm not proposing a new altcoin, I'm proposing a hostile takeover of this one Smiley

So what do we do?

We can either get the code and crap from the dev, take our coin back and actually use it properly, which might never happen cause devs are never here..

Make our own coin..

We can all just ditch, find something else..

Or we can wait for nothing.

It's not a negativity thing, it's logical, and economics, without any power, we can't do anything and we will watch this fall even harder.

Dev's seriously, give us the code, or tell us wtf you're up to, if you give no shits about the coin, that's fine, but tell the people.

The source code is already available:

https://github.com/flappycoin-project/flappycoin

We just need to fork it...and get a 'majority' to upgrade to our version (this is the hard part I suspect)

Sold my coins for @1 satochi and halved my money.

So guys, I am out of here. When the dev decides to half the blocks now.

Good luck guy

Smiley selling flapps at this price is waste of money ..

You should perhaps wait. Some pump is possible in the future.... sometimes better to just sit and wait Smiley

danfred is right, the 'developer' does not appear to have the skills required for FLAP to succeed and so far seems unwilling to accept help.

I'm fairly new to the crypto coin world, but aren't there already precedents where a coin has been forked by the community to overcome a developer deficit?

Flappy is trading fine in the LTC sections at Crypto Rush. We need a LTC/Flappy trade pair at Cryptsy. I don't think it will see any action in the BTC trade pair until it gets around 60-70 Litoshi in the LTC trade section.

IFC was the same way, a few folks bought billions of IFC for LTC and also at 1 Satoshi BTC and it finally went up. So patience does pay off big at times. The Flappy game makes this a better investment than IFC.

It's way too early to call it quits on Flappy. It took IFC about 4 months to take off, I expect the same or better from Flappy. I'm buying and mining as much Flappy as I can, maybe I'll lose but I did the same thing with IFC so I'm willing to risk it again. Buy a few billion while it's still cheap. Later you'll be able to control the market if you buy enough. Reference this post in about 4 months. If I'm wrong please say "I told you so."   Wink    Chris B.

You should also look into NETcoin, a few of us investors are accumulating a large amounts of NET at the current lowest point and its slowly taking off. www.[Suspicious link removed] is a very good pool for NET. One of the old prestigious coins with a nice community.

Thanks but no thanks. NET has already passed the entry point for large gains and big returns. It's now in the pump stages and I steer clear of those, it'll likely end up like Dog-e. Early investors (those buying into Flappy now) will see a much greater return on Flappy IMO. If I were you, I'd cash out of NET and buy FLAP with the profits. I like to invest in new coins, something that will turn 1 BTC into 10, 10 BTC into 100, etc.

The poor communication and the reluctance of the devs to involve the community is becoming frustrating; I certainly agree with that. Solutions seem obvious; start delegating to the enthusiastic community members. I don't want to just criticize (its easy to be a critic); I always try to offer ideas / solutions so here are some simple suggestions:-

  • Delegate the updating of this thread to another cummnity member; it does not mean you are relinquishing any powers, just freeing yourself up!
  • Put out a request to coders to ask for help to refine wallets and add/suggest other innovations
  • When clear targets have been created, start individual donation bountys to motivate people to complete the task, I'm sure bag holder swill happily donate to improve the coin standing
  • Request Cryptsy add LTC market as the BTC one is lurching round like a zombie at the moment, or possibly get delisted to allow oppotunety for the coin to regroup and drop off the multipool lists?

Just some thoughts Wink

Interesting. How would you have done it differently? Given it's trading coins and the security issues involved, I don't see how they could not have had it link to the largest exchange for security and best trade volume?

It's not about the way it was done... but what it's called. Adding a link to an external exchange is not a built-in exchange. Nothing was built into the wallet except for a link. Having website links within our wallet does not make it any better than other wallets.

The devs are like big retards and newbies to dev a coin

Many of us already feel mislead by the developer (see below) and now this just adds to that feeling.

"Task 1: Integrate the FlappyCoin game to FlappyCoin blockchain (like Huntercoin but much more fun). The team is focusing on this, we may have a hard fork at block 100,000th to integrate the game - Most important!"

Nothing of the sort. Turned out to be just a link to a webpage game... even that never worked correctly.

New wallet released in to versions. Not tested it yet myself

http://www.reddit.com/r/flappycoin/comments/214xq9/flappycoin_qt_wallet_200_released/

I checked the source (the new trading fork) at https://github.com/flappycoin-project/flappycoin/blob/trading/src/qt/tradingpage.cpp. As you can see all that's being added to the wallet are links to http://exchange.flappycoin.info. And that site is just a front-end for Cryptsy (user still needs to create account on Cryptsy site and enter API keys into this site). It would be easier just to use Cryptsy by itself.

There's no real innovation here.

Also note the site https://exchange.flappycoin.info does not support SSL encryption correctly. It is using the certificate from flapwallet.com.
