Florincoin fork coming later today!
Hi everyone, Devon, the founder of the decentralized library of alexandria here, with info about a coming hard fork for Florincoin.
As we've been working hardcore on alexandria, we noticed florincoin could use a bit of a core upgrade. When we set out to upgrade its codebase to LTC's v0.10.x, we discovered that following our minor release of florincoin in Dec, some full nodes and pools compiled with a new version of openssl were producing signatures that were not backwards compatible with libsecp256k1 (a necessary upgrade compartmentalizing the daemon from the cli as well as providing a more efficient signature algorithm), necessitating a hard fork to correct this issue going forward.
We have the upgraded wallet code ready to go and have tested it on multiple OS's. There is a possible double spend risk in the hours leading up to the hard fork, so we have asked the Poloniex and Bittrex exchanges to suspend deposits and withdrawals in the next few minutes. The fork is planned to occur around 12:20pm PST today (March 25, 2016).
Our UNOMP pool at
http://pool.alexandria.media is running the new codebase, so if you want to mine continuously thru the fork, please point your hashes that way. We will be renting hashes for that pool shortly before the fork to ensure that the latest codebase is submitting the majority of POW by the time we hit the target block.
Also, Mac users, rejoice - for the first time in a long while we have working builds of Florincoind for OS X, yay CLI
VERY IMPORTANT: Because of the sequence of events planned for the fork, it is very important that you do NOT attempt to spend any FLO using the v10 codebase before the hard fork. Any transactions sent from a v10 client before approx 12:20PM PST today will very likely NOT be valid after the fork. This is a very small window of danger, but it's a real one, so be aware.

https://github.com/dloa/florincoinNote: to facilitate header-first syncing with other v.10.x clients, you can add these two nodes to your florincoin.conf file. Keep in mind that the order that nodes appear in the list defines the order that your client will connect with them, so putting these two at the top of your list will tell your wallet to connect with them first, greatly increasing sync speed.
