Wallet unable to sync 'no block source found' Sad

A few people have had the same problem - tried adding nodes, restarting, recompiling, enabling UPnP, using a different connection, leaving it for a while, throwing salt over my shoulder, praying to the plague god Nurgle and blind idiot Azathoth. Nothing.

Have you checked you have the Frycoin.conf in the .frycoin folder under home folder? Try renaming it frycoin.conf or Frycoin.conf - Ubutu is case sensitive in some cases, also add the extra nodes on the first post.

Yep, tried both variations and putting the extra nodes in.  I thought it may be something funky going on with my router, but it does the same with my mobile connection too.  Also tried it in Windows (with the extra nodes) and it's the same.

I guess I'm just cursed!  I've not had this occur with any other coin's clients.

Thanks for replying though - will just have to hold them in the pool for the meantime.

Put this on frycoin.conf and the file should be located here: C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\Frycoin *snip*

Thanks for reply, but it's a no go (see above) =)

0x0a.nl operator
i'm mining at that p2p pool for 2 and a half hours now and all i got was 8 fry!

somehow i don't think thats right...

check FB1tFJ1eAFkku9dnXYigLQRdxwKnTm3So6

Which P2Pool are you mining at? I don't see your address at all in the logs of http://frycoin.p2p.0x0a.nl:9900 ..

mining with 80khs only at http://109.7.204.132:54900 but still i should get more coins than this..

The operator of that pool chose to run it as a private pool instead of a p2pool node, so its not getting the p2pool network hashrate and that means that the variance is a little higher because blocks are found less often. You do get more per block though, so it should even out if you mine long enough. For the current pool rate where you're mining, you should get an average of (80 / 5500) * 300 ~= 4 Fry per block found by your pool. With the high share variance from the low 80 kh/s hashrate though, it may take time to get to that average.

Of course you're also welcome to see if you get the same on one of the p2pool nodes that are part of the p2pool network Wink:
http://frycoin.p2p.0x0a.nl:9900 (0.9% fee)
http://p2pool-eu.gotgeeks.com:9900 (1% fee)
http://rav3n.dtdns.net:9900 (1% fee)
or set up your own with https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav/tree/fry !

I am having issues getting my wallet to connect anyone else got the same problem?

Just a bunch of connection timeouts in the debug.log?

I have built the wallet from source on Xubuntu 12.04.

Did you add the frycoin.conf to your .frycoin folder under home?

Also please add the extra nodes on the first post.
