Anyone speaking Chinese to submit Gapcoin to Chinese exchanges? There is a huge crypto audience. Gapcoin is unique pretty much, but who knows about it in China?

For the two biggest "math coins", Primecoin and Riecoin, the biggest activity, by far, is in China.

Today

Primecoin
#   Source    Volume (24h)
1   BTC38     $ 13,736
2   Poloniex  $ 1,260
3   BTER      $ 382

Riecoin
#  Source      Volume (24h)
1  BTC38       $ 6,257
2  Poloniex    $ 163

You might also try contacting J0nn9 at [email protected]

He seems to come by this thread every few months and probably answers mining questions.

Thanks for the links, however there are some specifics in regards to a GAP pool Smiley  ...all suggestions are welcome... btw did anyone ever solve the Nvidia gpu problem?

Last 'working' pool source for Gapcoin from the old noncepool can be found here;

Think you already found that one though.  Smiley

Don't think that Nvidia GPU mining was working properly with the latest miner !?! AMD was (mostly) OK though.

I would like to host a pool for GAP @ 0% fee. Can anyone post a good tutorial , I run a cryptonote pool but the back and front ends are different than what I see that was last at github by noncepool.

Or if anyone can point me to the right person to request help from, thanks.

I know little about pools and do not mine but maybe good info here

This coin deserves much more attention and value. It doesn't waste electricity unlike most coins. Zero premine and no financial backing mean there is no promotion or infrastructure. Sad but true.

Awesome coin for sure.

One reason it doesn't get attention is that it is not listed on the main coinmarketcap page, since the explorer they use is offline. GAP has it's own page if
you look for it http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/gapcoin/ but is not listed on the main http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/ page.

There is actually a working explorer at http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=GAP which only has to be submitted to coinmarketcap to get
GAP back on the main page, which I'll do.

add
Just realized that block explorer sends a person through advertisements when they search an address. Probably not acceptable to coinmarketcap.

add
Apparently coinmarketcap.com did not accept that block explorer and did not add GAP to the page http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/

If anyone knows of a working block explorer that lets a person search addresses directly, please post it.

J0nn9,

can you please remove this page from the first post, the page looks realy dead.

"Statistics: http://coinia.net/gapcoin/stat.php"

A lot of links on the website and original post need to be updated.

j0nn9 posts sporadically, probably has a day job, and mathematicians are not often team players

FWIW,
The mentions on Nicely's site http://www.trnicely.net/

<2000               [0 found]                                  http://www.trnicely.net/gaps/gaplist.html
4000 to 5998     [More than 100 found by gapcoin]  http://www.trnicely.net/gaps/g4k.html
6000 to 7998     [More than 100 found by gapcoin]  http://www.trnicely.net/gaps/g6k.html
8000 to 9998     [10 found]                                  http://www.trnicely.net/gaps/g8k.html
10000 to 14998  [More than 100 found by gapcoin]  http://www.trnicely.net/gaps/g10k.html
15000 to 19998  [More than 100 found by gapcoin]  http://www.trnicely.net/gaps/g15k.html
20000 to 24998  [53 found]                                  http://www.trnicely.net/gaps/g20k.html

The highest listed gap found by gapcoin was # 24822

Gapcoin and Riecoin have both found many numbers in their respective categories.

Also worth noting that Gapcoin seems to find prime gaps which are considered of higher merit than most others. Merit "indicates how much larger the gap is than the average gap" (ref Dr Nicely's site).

I am not sure how science will use these numbers. Maybe in a hundred years they will be found to correlate with some natural process and having these numbers will allow another branch of science to progress.

interesting stuff even if I don't quite understand it.  Huh
