How long does it take to receive gemz on the iOS app? I bought some on shapeshift using receive gems function on the app. its been like 30 mins.. Huh

I think the speed of Gems for on chain transactions is like bitcoins speed and within the app they are instant.

yeah gems support is helping me out.

Support help me out and I received my Gems  Grin

I hope this bug is fixed soon.  Smiley

The pictures on Google play of getgems wallet and app look really cool, instantly stands out with those graphics. If it isn't broken, don't fix it  Wink

the new passphrase doesn't work with counterwallet.io, where do i use it?

You can use https://web.hivewallet.com/, https://multibit.org/ to recover bitcoins and counterwallet.io to transfer gems on-chain.
GetGems passphrase uses the "default" layout mentioned in the BIP32 spec.

To make things clear:
(1) GetGems passphrase can be used in https://web.hivewallet.com/ and https://multibit.org/ to recover bitcoins (not gems)
(2) https://counterwallet.io/ can be used for gems on-chain.
(3) in-app Gems are off-chain, meaning they wont show in https://counterwallet.io/.

The only feature that this app needs to get off and running is the airdrop and referral system, The airdrop will last for 3 years anyway so much can be developed over time. But this constant adding of refinements which ARE good but are secondary makes me think either 1. There is a problem of priority and secondary features are taking over the development or more serious 2. That there is some problem with implementing the main elements of the app i.e. Referral, Airdrop and to a lesser extent the advertising model. What I worry is that this constant changing of the wallet is more a stalling than actual development like NEM did. I worry cause I still think timing is everything and Gems is losing peoples interest it seems and has similarish apps snapping at its heels. It concerns me.

My hope is within one to two months we have a relatively bug free app with the referral system and the airdrop in place. The rest of the development personally I think is secondary and can happen as the user base hopefully develops.

Oh, right: you're worried about "programming creep." I have to admit, that phenom is insidious - especially when community feedback is listened to and acted on.

Trouble is, the peeps in the general publick are less tolerant of bugs & non-intuitive features that they used to be. If it's any consolation, those competitors nipping at the heels of GEMZ will either be bogged down by the same feedback loop - which means GEMZ will still be first - or else they'll release an inferior (perhaps buggy) product.

There's a huge difference between GEMZ and Nem: Nem was always behind Nxt. It was always condemned to pay catch-up. GEMZ is in first place, even now.

I heard new Android update 441 is on play store, i have version 436 but when i go to play store it say "open" which should actually be "update", i uninstalled and reinstalled again but it is still showing version 436 and not 441.
sorry I gave you wrong information,  i thought it was out but they are waiting for the IOS version to be updated then they will release both, hopefully it will be in a couple of days. Again I apologize for the incorrect information.

Yep, i asked one of the devs, it's only available for beta testers but not for non testers yet.

Here is my opinion

Wallet, i think it's good to have both Cryptos on the same window, it makes things more simpler and gives the app less pages, especially when advertisement model, instant swap option, additional referrals/features get added you probably will have more pages. For example if you want to see bitcoins transactions history with the current design you would have to select wallet, swipe right and select bitcoin, with the new design you select wallet and select bitcoin making it no need to swipe which makes reaching the options quicker.

You can discuss about the blue but i think thats not really mandatory it can always be changed since we have to move on to the referral mechanisms and other important features which i hope will soon be available, especially the additional referrals mechanism because i want to make a Thread at http://www.reddit.com/r/beermoney/ about it Smiley.

@gemzdev you must push promotion
if you seriously to growth this app
you can add give away to some people finish registration use mobile number
or you can add facebook conect and twitter connect

But the app isn't ready for it yet imo, some things needs to be added, the referral mechanism for active users at least.

Yes: the wide wide world outside of this here echo chamber would very much appreciate the bugs being ironed out first.

Yeah but some bugs must be coming out of the change that new features bring. I'll be honest here, I think there is a priority issue here or at least a development issue. the new wallet designs seems to destroy the Gems feel for me  Undecided. the color should still be the salmon pink because that is what Gems has established and most of the people really like that style and if you want to add more color options for users, it should be bright and "happy", but not bland.
but if i had to choose, i like the third one the most on upper right and maybe it would even look pretty good without the blue, but i want to add that you have to keep everything very minimalistic because if it feels even a little complex to some bitcoiners, think about how new users with no understanding of crypto will feel...
maybe it's possible to enable the advanced features from settings to not overcrowd the wallet?
hope you understand  Smiley

But would i be able to see a list of past transactions, for both GEMS and BTC but separately.

Also, is this for both Android and iOS smartphones?

When you select on one of the cards (Gems or BTC) in the first picture of your post it will bring you to a more detailed window with transactions history shown in the second picture, so yes you will be able to see past transactions for both Cryptos. I'm not sure if it's also for iOS, it was submitted by the Android dev.

To be completely honest, I think the current wallet design is way better than the proposed one in every way. I usually like what the team has been doing but this time I'm not feeling it. It looks a bit messy and way too much information in one place. Also, the blue does not fit GetGems at all, because the colour of the app is extremely important for the app to be recognisable and marketable, I see no point in using a random colour (in terms of GetGems) that is so overused already. So far all the designs have been much more user friendly and easier to understand.

They are all nice, can't really choose. The last one though looks cleaner. It also has users profile picture which i like. I guess the 'banners' represent cards and look like it too. I leave it to the devs.

I actually liked the last iteration of the wallet, clean and simple to understand. I'm not sure anyone would of struggled to see there was a BTC wallet as well if they swipe but hey whatever.

My big negative of the above wallets apart from looking overly complicated for the sake of it compared to like I said the last one is the Facebook blue used. Maybe its cause I hate FB but I think using FB blue for an app unless its just an option of many is a bad idea.

I do agree that the current wallet is simple and easy to understand. With a few tweaks it would very easy to figure out for a new user. The "receive coins addy" should be accessible from the chat screen.

Suggestions:

Transactions should be hidden unless called for by the user..much cleaner that way.

*Maybe an in app feature box tutorial is in order to lead the new user through the features.

As I'm not alone in my negativity I'll be a bit more blunt. The above wallets look kind of dated in style. They kind of look like the banners on some 90's website or something. Sorry.  Cool

I deleted my post after using the current app again...I think it is much better in design than the new apps. The current app is VERY clean. I think there should be access to the transactions but they should stay hidden. I'll repeat my suggestions for functionality tweaks.

Suggestions:

*From the chat screen you should have buttons that paste your gemz or btc addy in the txt box. There would be no need to go copy the addy and paste it in the txt box....seems like it would be more seamless and have less room for error.

*On the chat screen, when you copy an addy in the message box, there should be a pop up option to "send coins to this addy?"

*Both BTC addys and GEMZ addys start with a "1" for single signature addy. To help avoid confusion as to weather an addy is a BTC or GEMZ addy, maybe in the app you display "GEMZ1DvRZcgfVynB8G4o1wJK3mX9uWztoQBb2E" and have the wallet disregard the "GEMZ" at the beginning of the addy for all the inner workings.

*Start your own shapeshift like service and your company could profit from the exchange fee and spread. Due to the ease of exchanging in app you could charge a higher exchange fee than the current exchanges (.5% ish).
