Competition is hot on GEMS trail it seems. They don't have the attention system but they seems a pro bunch so I expect they will have a decent product.

There is a must have option Gems should have which is the ability to maximise users profile picture. This is a small addition but extremely important feature for an opener. I know this from myself and my friends and pretty much actually everyone uses this option. Don't know if Gems has this but it really should be added if it's not featured.
There are a lot of dedicated free application to maximise users profile picture.
In the Gems application you are able to choose any picture from your phone for your users profile picture, so you will be able to pick your favorite edited picture. we think the top priority is to develop the Gem's key innovations.
I'm talking about maximising users profile picture within the app like whatsapp which i'm currently using, don't know if Telegram has this. It's a powerful tool for people to start a conversation and a conversation can lead to Gems/Bitcoin related topics. Lot of users want to see another persons profile picture in a bigger size when you click on the small thumbnail in the convo section, i know it's not innovative but it's pretty useful which lot of people use. As an active IM user i think it should this option should be available.

Assuming there is a searchable blockchain just like Bitcoin, If we use our own names in the app will people be able to see your account movements with your name attached?

Gems are less currency more tokens or small units of shares in The Gems app. The CEO of Snapchat unlike Gems gets all the made up tokens for his app or what we like to call dollars.

I'm not dismissing this coin, it does have massive potential if it gets the massive numbers of downloads BUT the price people have paid for it makes it very fragile once it hits the exchanges. I think people can scoop up this coin at half the price it's at in this sale probably much less.
The token have a use contrary to most altcoins. You need to buy tokens to advertise on the network.
The fees are much cheaper if you use tokens instead of BTC. It is ideal for micro payment.
So, what's the date when we can withdraw GEMZ from Koinify?

Owning more tokens gives you bonus in the reward system.
When you invest, never go all-in. I personally keep half of my investment to buy latter if the price go down.

He says what makes Bitcoin good or better than an alternative is it's network effect and if that alternative has better features and a greater network effect it can be better than Bitcoin but the key is Bitcoins network effect that makes is popular.
But Bitcoins network effect is just around 1 million or even less users. Compared to Telegram (launched in 2013) it's pretty bad it has 50x less users and to Whatsapp 450x less users.
You could argue which is pretty reasonable that Whatsapp or Telegram are free and Bitcion costs money, you could also say that applications like the examples above are more user friendly and easier to understand. Also increasing network effect is easier with a free mobile application than a payment system like Bitcoin.
So for Gems it should be easier to grow it's network effect, but then again Bitcoin has had lots of promotion and marketing. If Gems would have the same mainstream recognition i can see it growing a network effect easier than Bitcoin, not to mention that Bitcoin can be used in the app aswell so it would definitely be a boost for Bitcoin too.
