So your asking for double the marketcap of Qora for only half the coins. A cool million dollars for making an app, what planet do you crypto stealers live on? You get money when you succeed not when you just make an app.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
I'm out of here.

- The pre-sale is going to be done in a price discovery mechanism. The community is going to decide the initial marketcap.
- We think its important to keep Gems reserve for the airdrop in order to grow the network.
- we explained why we think a pre-sale is the right model for Gems here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=758004.msg8707596;topicseen#msg8707596

1+2: we decreased the total supply from 10 Billion Gems to a 100 Million Gems as a response to the community feedback. gem can be divided down to 8 decimal places so it isn't a problem if Gems network grows at an exponential rate.
Still feel that 100 Million is a small number if we are talking worldwide adoption.
Just for calculation purposes
If you raise the whole 3000 BTC(Mentioned in the video) for 45 Million Gems, each gem will be sold at 6670 satotshis.

3. If the community think its a good idea we can consider this. It's important to note that the current model of the "airdrop" all ready gives incentive to early adopters, this is because the daily airdrop amount is fixed (~27,400 gems) while the numbers of users joining the network every day will keep growing.
For example:  on day one 2 users join the network = each invite will be worth 13,700 gems.
on day thirty 100 users join the network = each invite will be worth 274 gems.
Please consider this because this type of marketing has been hugely successful in the past for companies like Amway, etc. Please consider creating a poll here. Also what do you think about a Gems forum? We'll need it after the launch for sure.

4. Our mobile apps are completely native. We develop for each platform (iOS/Android) separately and that's in order to reach vey highest quality possible. Cross platform solutions like phonegap or appcelerator are cheaper to make but result in lower quality apps. Our iOS app is written in Objective C and our Android app will be written in Java. If you compare the underlying technology for other serious apps like WhatsApp or Facebook, you will see the same implementation choice. We need the presale funds to be able to develop and support both platforms. To keep things "fair" we can start the airdrop compensation model only when both iOS and Android apps are ready.

It is great to see that you are giving equal priority to both the platforms. This way we can test the app before the airdrops.
I would like to mention it again that I was amazed to see the Decentral video. Everything is well thought and planned before the crowdsale except that Koinify might face some problems with the current situation in the US with the SEC investigating Tokens..

Dario Mutabdzija (Koinify co-founder) and myself were invited to speak at Decentral Vancouver meet-up. Some very cool people attended, with good question.

Vancouver! Wow...

If you're planning to stop by Toronto, please PM me. That's where I live.
It was just an internet conference. Watch the video, you'll get it. I doubt that Daniel is travelling to Canada anytime soon especially with the Gems launch under the horizon  Smiley

Hi Daniel, It was lovely to see your passion in your interview. This video is a must see for anybody who wants to invest in Gems or excited about using the app.
I would like to ask some questions:
1. What was your thought process when you decreased the coin supply from 10 Billion Gems to a mere 200 Million? Could you provide the reasoning behind this?
If you want worldwide adoption, a bigger number of coins outweighs your choice of 200 Million Gems. The number of mobiles is increasing at an exponential rate. Having a larger number of Gems would have a better distribution.

2.What is the number of decimals a Gems will have?

3. In the video you mentioned that only bringing new users directly under you will make you eligible for the airdrop. Why don't you consider a strategy like the person in the video suggested. I mean something like a branch system. Not only the users get rewarded for their referrals but also for their referral's referrals(Sort of like a tree marketing). In this way the early investors and adopters will have some sort of incentive.

4. Have you decided anything on the Android app yet? Personally I think you should start the crowdsale after having both the IOS and Android apps available or you can complete the crowdsale and then release both the apps on the same time at a later date. Otherwise it would be an unfair advantage for the IOS users.
Thank you.

Facebook is worth ~200B$. Twitter ~30B$. Instagram was bought for 1B$, and Whatsapp for a whooping 19B$.
The average age of the companies is less than 7 years. What constitutes their enormous values? Users, at an industry average of 100$.

In the age of the internet if you are not paying for a service then you are not the costumer - you are the product.

total coins?
100,000,000 (100M) is the total amount of coins.

btw when does the gem sale start?? are the terms out yet?
We are working hard to start the pre-sale mid-November.

Hi together,

will there be a desktop client or a browser plugin? that would be very nice.
We agree, but releasing stable and solid clients for iOS and Android is top priority.

Any info if gems is expecting a letter from sec?
Based on what I know, tokens are not being used in a way that would qualify for the SEC to intervene. GEMS is fine.
Although I think GEMS can only reach its true potential if its Android as well. 90% of people that I know in Europe have an Android phone rather than iOS.
Yes please look into this matter with SEC, if any. Also would love to have the android app on day one too  Smiley
The SEC is an American organisation which isn't gonna have much bearing on an IPO in Israel is it.
Gems pre-sale isn't an IPO. We are working closely with our legal team in Israel and Koinify legal team in the U.S. to make sure we comply with FinCEN's Regulations guidance.

I can't help notice you are avoiding the question everyone is asking about Android. Unless your plan is just to reward only Hipsters?

We are talking internally about this subject.

Looks like Nxtty already launched on Google Play, GEMS should hurry up Smiley

We wish nxtty best of luck. Reading the short comparison between the apps (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=758004.msg8594258;topicseen#msg8594258) you will see the two are very different and not in direct competition.
