Some even bigger bombshells coming from GG's general discussion group:

Android total downloads have grown by 100% since November 24, 2015.

60,924 downloads on both platforms.

1,090 reviews on Android close to averaging 4.7 stars.

A big update for iOS soon to be released in order to catch up with all the Android features.

Awaiting approval for the iOS Gems Keyboard.

Seems GetGems is really going to make 100k userbase huh, amazing.

Well damn, great job team! Moon in sight.

Some major bombshells coming from GG's general discussion group:
The company unlocked 50% of the funds on Dec 15, 2015, but didn't announce it.
As said in the GG's general discussion group, the funds release will be addressed in the next blog post.

On Dec 15, you received 50% of the crowd sale funds, but decided not to announce it.
On Jan 4, you published a blog, but still kept the funds transfer a secret.
On Jan 22, facing direct questions regarding the funds in chat, you admit that you’re already in possession of them.
What's with the secrecy?
Do you not see the benefits of transparency and basic communication? Have the lessons of the PayKey debacle been wasted?
For reference, the first milestone (Android release) was announced 4 days after the fund transfer. That was completely reasonable.

The team has been transparent and communicative with the community on almost a daily basis within GG, twitter, BTT etc.
As you recall Koinify made the announcement for the first milestone..

Unlocking 50% of the funds is a significant, newsworthy event.

Keeping silent about it is not my definition of being "transparent and communicative on almost a daily basis".

You waited over a month to reveal this fact, and only under persistent questioning in the chatroom.

So please, no excuses about koinify.

Why did you not make an announcement about receiving the funds sometime in the past 38 days?

For reference, Koinify made the announcement for the first milestone release https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10303758 and not us, it would have been best (and we gave them the time) to do the same also for the second release.

I had a hunch Android was starting to get going by the uptick rate of reviews. Still most of downloads are iOS 2/3 or more but I think Android will start moving now too. I would be very surprised if we haven't gone over 100,000 download in the next two months.

The iOS app (29 Apr 2015: http://getgems.ghost.io/2015/04/29/getgems-development-update-8/) and token system (Aug 10, 2015: https://medium.com/@GetGems/referral-rewards-are-only-available-to-humans-16f67aae6fd1#.hlqaesvvb) milestones have been delivered a long time ago but we kept improving them (14 iOS updates, 40,000+ downloads) before asking for the funds release which only happened last month.

The remaining funds (25%) are no longer held in a multi-sig with keys held by third parties. The bitcoins were converted to cash on March 2015, and sit in a Circle account under the control of "high level executives".

You misunderstand the chat conversation.

The remaining funds (25%) of the last milestone (advertising platform) are still held in a 2 of 3 multi-sig wallet with keys held by Koinify, GetGems and Adam (arbitrator) - we're working hard on completing this last milestone.

50% of the total bitcoins were converted to dollars on March 2015 and held by Circle with contractual obligation to release the funds only upon Adams approval. This was done to hedge against the bitcoin volatility (bitcoin price fell to 152$ on January 14) in order to be able to plan a budget for the company. With the announcement of Koinify closing, what will happen to the remaining milestone funds?

Will stay in multisig wallet.

Do you automatically get access to it all now? Has this already happened?

No, nothing has changed. Adam role is to approve dispense of funds upon verification of milestone completion.

And why has nothing been said of this major event?

Koinify updated it's pivoting on May 29th, 2015: https://koinify.com/blog/something-on-the-verge/
Koinify website closing down (which we didn't get an early notice about) doesn't effect the milestone agreement.

@Shapeshift...

Why no Extended Validation SSL cert on your site? Most bank type services have these to more easily identify you are connected to the correct entity.

Hey I have a questionnaire. So from what I understand, the air drop is live, and there is suppose to be a button in the ap so that you can collect.  I am using a samsung s3 and my version is the latest version.  I invested a significant amount in the ipo, so I think I should be getting something.  What's the deal? Why don't I see that button? Thanks!

I have an iphone, but from what i can remember from android is in order to get the airdrop button, you need to unlock it first by tapping on the right 'card' which says i believe like fb/twitter. After you done that you will see the airdrop card which you need to collect yourself by tapping on it, airdrops are granted 1 time per day.

Thanks I didnt realize I had to like on facebook, post on twitter, and some other nonsense to unlock the airdrop.  Now I see the airdrop button when I click on  it, it requires me to invite friends.  The hoops that you aren't even told about that you have to jump through, a bit silly.

Your point is valid, we noticed this aswell and submitted it to the devs, it will be fixed in the next version.

I still haven't been given a single gem in the airdrop. Is that normal? Thanks!

You will get a lot of Gems if you invite in users that will stay active. I believe the airdrop amount depends on users you invite (who sign in the app and use it) and your activity, i thought also the amount of Gems u hold in your account but im not sure about it. Until now airdrop has been tested with a small amount based on participation and referrals, the full airdrop based on the 27,500 per day has not started yet but will once they have implemented the early buyers allocation. The more users join the network the smaller the shares become, just like Bitcoins rise in difficulty.

So i would say invite another person(s) and use the app more often. For the latter send me your username and i'll add you to our groups which is very active with frequently tipping.

Early buyers perk has been implemented, the airdrop will keep growing until 27,500 per day based on network growth.

I still haven't received anything. Am I the only one? I was an early buy and received an email asking for my phone number.  Is there anything I need to do? Thanks

From the Q/A:

Quote
The proceeds from the presale will be used for continuing the development of the network infrastructure, paying for servers, paying for bandwidth, the cloud hosting infrastructure and for the development of a set of mobile apps for all leading mobile platforms. The exact spending budget (as a percentage of presale revenue) will be openly advertised to all purchasers in advance.

Daniel, can you point me to where I might find this spending budget?

Also, I can't seem to find the official milestones agreement anymore. A link please?
