I am still trying to figure out if the nethasrate at 460mh/s because its being mined or is it some kind of adjustment that is taking place?

Looks like an adjustment. The hashrate is too big to be switched on in a few seconds and too random to be managed by a human being. Looks like these are PoS surprises.

Bit the bullet and bought in with the rest of my nut at 9-12 satoshi an hour or so ago.

I think it was a good call, but obviously it's early days. I'm happy with my investment, and I can't wait until I see the first PoS come through.

It would seem that way…I could get out right now and double my money.  Big buy order at 18…nearest sell wall at 50.  I'm holding though.  It took days to accumulate what I have now at a good price…and I think that GRA is undervalued at 20 satoshi.

What kind of interest does the PoS pay?  And is it really interest, or is it a type of mined coin that comes out of the total?

Will the PoS coins show up as transactions?

yes...

Here's an example PoS transaction from my wallet (addresses is omitted for security)

Status: 167 confirmations
Date: 1/12/2014 11:56
From: unknown
To: omitted (own address)
Credit: 11.270821 GRA
Net amount: +11.270821 GRA
Transaction ID: omitted

Generated coins must mature 50 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

Interesting.  Am I right in thinking that the PoS feature will tend to make people keep their GRA in a wallet rather than on an exchange?  If so…this will make holding GRA more appealing than dumping it.  That could be why there is relatively little GRA for sale on the exchanges (and what is for sale at the current 'good' price seems to be snapped up fast).

That's the idea, yes. It becomes more valuable to hold and gain interest and wait for the price to go up, than to dump it onto an exchange. So the small PoS acts like a market stabiliser.

Edit: Now at 15 Satoshis on coinedup. Going up up up.

The best feature about Grain is PoS!

Was watching my wallet the whole day, saw the coins jumping into stake and come back to balance with some topping. Wink

And there was no dump, looking at the amount of coins for sale at the ltc market.... Not really much coins there.

We are working in the background to get services, games, etc. Running for Grain.

Keep spreading the word for Grain and we will see a steady growth of the coin.

Yeah, I feel that given all the attention that Coinye has gotten in the past few weeks GRA was overlooked.

I saw someone refer to it as the 'whitebread alternative' to Coinye and just lol'd myself off my barcalounger…so I've been using that tagline when posting about it.  Given the lack of hype surrounding GRA, those words seem to ring true.

After suffering through RonPaulCoin I'm done with flashy celebcoins.  Give me boring and stable.

Just posted about it on the EMU thread…figured the PoS rewards would be appealing to those who were disappointed in EMU's problems.  Those of us who are into the GRA should make an effort to promote it outside this thread IMHO.

Grain to the moon. I wonder if they have good soil up there Smiley

By my calculations, 1 grain should be worth at least 0.00000100 btc, prob more.

The small proof of stake element is what makes it valuable. It's what had me interested in the coin when I first saw the thread pop up, despite it not being a newly launched coin at the time. Others must have thought the same thing, as the thread started becoming more active again. With all these terrible coins being launched, Grain is like a ray of sunshine. Definitely one I consider an investment.

The developer is also skilled and active. It's exactly what you want in a coin.

Thanks.

Just watched all GRN sell orders evaporate up to the wall at 15 in the space of about 5 minutes.  Should have bought more at 9 when I had the chance.   Undecided

Well, it's a big relief to me. I bought in at 9 Satoshi just in time. I knew it was going to go up. The sell walls were too small and buy walls too high. I was in the Catcoin thread and someone in there said he was moving away from it and investing in Grain.

Looks like we're picking up momentum.

Do I need to keep my GRN in a wallet for the stake or can I keep it on the exchange?

Yeah I've been trying to buy more at 6 satoshi for over a day now...not happening.

I bought in at 9 Satoshis. I'm not risking it going up to 10. I'll make it back from stake anyway.

Me too... Now I´m waiting for the first stake block...  Grin
