GreenCoin wallet doesn't want to be synchronized, the nodes for conf in the header is still relevant?

the wallet fully updates, it just doesn't indicate as such which is a known bug. The nodes in the conf are fairly recent. I can post my getpeerinfo in here anytime requested as well.

I'm working vigorously on PICISI..............

Should you contact dev directly, rather than post the full article here, it smells like commercial ad...

The new wallet keeps endlessly "Catching up.. downloaded 716 blocks of transaction history"
How to fix this?

there is no fix. This coin is stuck. We are looking at a re-launch as stated previously with a coin with stripped down features but 100% working.

ETA for launch? I would like to be on the ground floor for this one  Smiley

right now we don't have a timetable but I will post in the forum (and email greencoin producers) when we have one.

This CO2X coin problem gives me an idea, “Egalitarian Coin”, any node taking more than 10 percent of the hash rate starts going up in the ban count and gets purged from the community.  Who needs mining pools and ultra rich bag holders, aye comrade?  Liberty, equality, fraternity,  storm the bastille, crypto coins shall prevail!  Someone code it up and I'll mine it.  Cheesy

lol, hey I'll mine this to. Maybe GRE2 could have such features....  Grin

Hmm. Any progress been made? Or do you need a hand clearing up some bugs?

The general community consensus is GRE is a strong coin but too buggy to continue in its current form indefinitely. Nuggetbram got involved to provide some technical advice on the situation. He advised GRE would be too difficult of a fix and opted to help with a relaunch (CO2X). However, CO2X also experienced some problems mostly around it's advanced features. Nugget has offered to look into re-launching, possible with less advanced features, but with a strong 100% fully tested coin. The timetable for this isn't certain but when I mentioned your post to him he was enthusiastic to have another set of eyes on the code. We can also have a BTC bounty on the table for helping out. PM me around that if you'd like.

In the meantime I still personally like GRE as a payout for renewable Producers because it's live and running, it mostly works (except for the bugs previously noted), and the merge mining has certain strengths, for example, GRE certainly isn't going away anytime soon. While nugget and others re-vamp the strategy of a launching a new more stable coin, I can enthusiastically support the Renewable Ecosystem and solicit additional producers and other community development activities.

Until someone fixes the global carbon problem I'm going to keep working on this.

/ *does a quick scan of the internets* /

Nope, still working on it.

so is here a pooled solution to busting block 716? My 980X is munching at 2.3M for about 3 days and the best I have hit is ~18. Given diff is 68, I think some hired help might be necessary then have them throttle back as the natural mining comes online...thoughts?

I woke up this morning and after days of mining I found a block at 243 diff but it was rejected.  At this point I'm throwing in the towel unless someone finds a block - I doubt buying hash will make a difference.  I'm thinking the current block may not be solvable but I'm not sure.  If you look into what happened to cinnamon coin there are some clues there.  Basically a negative time difference killed that coin – I'm not sure if that is CO2X coins problem but at this point I would suggest maybe things be redesigned and we restart?

I don't know if this is possible but If somehow you could limit the hash rate or restrict nodes from a single source that is way higher than the other current miners this might help on preventing the problem with negative time difference and unbalanced distribution of coins.  My guess is that smaller less popular coins are going to face this issue now with the vast difference in hash rate we are experiencing in the community.

wow GRE diff at 724

Code:
}
"blocks" : 371056,
"currentblocksize" : 0,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 724.36006258,
"errors" : "",

"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 43075824950,

Had a few more coins than "usual" today, like about ~1M, so the new pool(s) coming in are paying the full 1000 it seems

so has the diff got us stuck at block 716 or is the wallet just failing to synch?

I haven't heard from nugget in awhile, I will wait for him to weigh in on this though.

I think it is the diff; it reports as 1.14 from getinfo but if that were the case it sure seems like someone would have found the block by now.  (Is the diff reported differently?)  Sgminer reports it as 68 and my best share is a 21 so far.  A mining calculator shows that I should be able to hit a couple blocks a week at a 68 diff, but I don't know.  Is anyone else mining CO2X?

I hope so, I've been running two GPU's on it for some time attempting to free the CO2X coin from the carbonite that has bound it up at block 716. Cheesy  My best share is a 15 with a difficulty reported by SGMiner as a 68 so it could take a while.  Maybe somebody will get it moving again with a PoS block or get lucky.  The excitement builds...

I hope that PoS will smooth out this type of issue when it starts working, and based on this experience it might need to be modified a bit so it kicks in faster.  I would suggest changing the PoS block time from ten minutes to one minute and shortening the minimum starting time.

In my opinion this coin (coins?) seems more about building camaraderie with people interested in long term success of free clean energy and the health of the biosphere and less about building long term monetary success.  It would be great if both things happened but at this point who knows.  Smiley

I believe investors are equally important as miners and producers for this coin because they are standing by the coin and supporting the block chain by running PoS or providing value through purchases and promoting the coin through their investment.  I don't feel it is right to be supplementing value to miners and pool operators through the purchase of coins that should be rightfully a part of the foundation but are not being properly distributed – I would stop doing this.  If anything I would use some of this value to purchase some hash to break the CO2X coin free – (just back off slow so that we don't end with the same situation).

Sorry if this feels like a rant – just feeling a bit frustrated after setting my GPU's on this for almost three days and missing out on mining my usual stash of XMG through the multipool.  Cheesy
