Hi!

Part 1 of the christmas present is another world premiere: First Groestl based Android wallet

After a measure of hard work adapting the latest Bitcoin wallet (v4.14) for Android to Groestlcoin, the Groestlcoin Android wallet beta (v0.20) is ready for testing.
The app allows you to send and receive Groestlcoins on your device using QR codes and URI links.
When using this app, please back up your wallet and email them to yourself!  This will save your wallet in a password protected file.  Then your coins can be retrieved even if you loose your phone.

Planned fixes in the next beta release:
1.  Support for sweep paper wallet

It is appreciated if feedback of the following is provided:
1.  Can you receive coins? (small amounts to avoid losing them)
2.  Can you send coins?
3.  Can you scan a QR code from another phone.
4.  Can you request coins via email or other android service?
5.  How long does it take to sync the blockchain?
6.  How much space does it take up on your phone?
7.  Does it calculate exchange rates properly?

If the app crashes you can send the report via email or another method if your phone allows it.  Reports of errors can also be posted in this topic.
To close the app, simply press the back button until you reach your home screen.  The app will close itself (there is no need for a disconnect option).
This application is licensed under the GPL version 3. There is no warranty and no party shall be made liable to you for damages. If you lose coins due to this app, no compensation will be given. Use this app solely at your own risk.

Implementing gimmicks like social tab, anon, pos etc does not help a currency succeed, only liquidity, merchants and users help.
Groestlcoin does not need any more improvements, it needs acceptance. In the upcoming months we will concentrate on more tools for users which will be announced here on this thread by their developers. We will concentrate later on merchants and liquidity.

First usertool will be announced next week as a Christmas present. It will be released as a fully functional beta version. Untill that time keep mining Groestlcoins.

hi i am not sure if you realized that PALTH is a dead exchange.
you can't deposit any coins there to trade.
i would suggest to remove it from the OP (in all languages)

IMHO social tab is a good idea

ok, fine less is more...
but groestlcoin needs more presence in the social networking sites.
i think it could even encourage groestlcoin fans to check more often what is happening on those pages or join the irc channel if they have that in front of their eyes when opening the wallet.
also, to have all important stuff in one app is handy if you are not good with bookmarks etc.

i suggest a quick poll.
"would you like to have a social tab in the next upgrade?"
if nobody here wants that i'd say ok fine forget about it.

What extra value does it give the wallet? Shouldn't we keep the wallet as simple as possible? To be honest we can have all features that Saffroncoin has (it has been offered to us) but we declined as it does not add a extra value to our wallet. We want a no nonsens wallet like Bitcoin and Litecoin. I don't say we never will but for now let us keep things simple.
