Trying this for the fun of navigating the chinese pages. Has the project been cancelled? The pool is almost dead, currently 8 workers. Can this be solo mined with an i5 with any chance of success?

Edit: Also no peers available for qt to get new blocks.

Any better CPU coins?

From sources - there is scrypt-jane, forked from yacoin, so it must be scrypt-chacha + pbkdf with keccak 512.
Nfactor is 9, rfactor is 5, so for one thread must be used:
for V array
2^(9+1) * 2^5 * 128 / LOOKUP_GAP = 4194304 bytes (for lookup_gap = 1)
+ for X array = 4096 bytes
+ for Y array = 4096 bytes

The ybc-miner will not work with it, as it hardcoded for rfactor = 0.

Theriotically hashing can be run on GPU, but there no gpu-miner available on the internet, maybe someone already has it.

Another Chinese crap which is "CPU-only", remember YAC, YBC, and many other chinese "CPU-only" coins? They publish a CPU miner, and the dev and their friends are all mining with a secret GPU miner, all these coins are from scrypt-jane variations.

It's an old Chinese trick, everyone knows now

Sounds like that shitty Blakecoin is one of these. Still no gpu-miner but the hashrates/difficulty are insane.
Are you kidding?
Current Difficulty   0.00190757
Network Hashrate: 221.000 KH/s. This is the speed of ONE 7950 card in Srypt-Jane.
I believe this proves that no one now mine with GPU.

LOL, you do not even know what is Scrypt-Jane, ever heard of a thing called Nfactor?
If you read the topic, you would see that I know.
And if NFactor is too large, then there is no sense of the GPU. In any case, I'm all for the truth, but do not write speculation. Write the facts. I have NO found that it is possible mine with cards. When you find - write.

For those who like to make accusations about the hashing algorithm, may be you should go through the source code, find out what it is and post your evidence?

I don't know what this coin uses, but for people who talk like they know, please don't hesitate to show everyone you really know.

You just proved that you do not know nothing. Tnank you. I will mine HTC-coin.
..... I have tried a little, but maybe due to (modified) scrypt-jane hashing, this scrypt-htc is about 10x slower than a regular scrypt hash function used in Litecoin.
Really?
You got at least one block with GPU? I have only rejects by using GPU-mining.
By the way, at the source code I have not seen that it IS scrypt-jane. (scrypt-jane always have something like this : "nChainStartTime =", "MinimumN = ", "MaximumN = ")

I'm sorry for the misleading sentences. I tried to mine this coin using my laptop's cpu.

Btw, if Huitong coin uses an advanced hashing algorithm different from scrypt-jane, it looks like promising.  Smiley

I want to know the details of the algo, but there's no documents describing this.

Really? Btw, How many cpu's (or cores) do you have? Or tweak a mining program to gpu-mine this coin? I have tried a little, but maybe due to (modified) scrypt-jane hashing, this scrypt-htc is about 10x slower than a regular scrypt hash function used in Litecoin.

Need a PROOF.
I am not a supporter of this coin. I just need to know mine or not to mine HTC-coin. And what you say - absolutely nothing to prove. By the way, your post without proof strongly suggests that you mine this coin youself, and just troll other people. I apologize if this is not the case, but need proof.

Sorry if I came off as a troll.

See PGC:
  • https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3172656 was the launch of Pangucoin, which claimed scrypt-pgc as its algorithm. The coin had a nice backstory, but the developers had premined 128 blocks. I went and tried to mine it anyway.
  • https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3173527 After over 2 hours, only 22 blocks had been mined by the network. The block target is 1 minute. I calculated that the hashrate was no more than 2.8KH/s, and concluded that to mine 128 blocks the developers must have used a hidden GPU miner. Hence I did not trust the developer any more, and I deleted the client.

Also, KING. I did not mine this at the start, but saw that the diff was low and so wanted to collect a few.
  • https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annkingkingcoinpowpos-coin-with-new-algocoin-controlno-premine-278834 was the launch of Pangucoin, which claimed scrypt-new as its algorithm, and provided a CPUminer. It launched without source, so people were naturally suspicious.
  • When version 1.1 was released, it came to light that it was scrypt-jane all along, with changed parameters (Nfmin=10, Nfmax=30, StartT=1376913600). It is entirely possible that a GPU miner had been used. Due to this, it has now been labeled a scamcoin and is near-dead.

Knowing this, how could I trust this coin which claims yet another "new" scrypt algorithm, which probably is just another scrypt-jane?

scrypt-htc is  - just another scrypt-jane that is disguised as a CPU-mining algo while the creators mine on their GPUs
Just words. Proof is needed. I tried to mine HTC coin by GPU, but without success.

Just words. Proof is needed. I tried to mine HTC coin by GPU, but without success.

Please at least have the decency to quote my entire sentence, and not just cherry-pick.

For your information, the correct quote is
scrypt-htc is reminscent of scrypt-pgc (Pangu) and scrypt-new (Kingcoin) - just another scrypt-jane that is disguised as a CPU-mining algo while the creators mine on their GPUs

Because we have already two scamcoins that claimed to be new scrypt algo, but turned out to be scrypt-jane. They are Kingcoin and Pangubi. So I am hesitant to accept this coin, and let others exercise caution when trying out this kind of coins.

IIRC the Pangubi developers closed off the RPC mining port so all miners could only use CPU; however it was launched with 128 blocks already created. At a few hours after launch, the difficulty was 2^-12, but the global hashrate was in the single-digit kilohashes per second. Without a doubt PGC developers pre-mined with GPU.
