I thought it would be a good time to give a update of events for iCoin:

1. As you know bigridg7 did a radio interview yesterday which we will release to the public as soon as it's made available.
2. We will push for the Android Wallet to go live this weekend.
3. Looking at adding a escrow service for iCoin so we can maintain the merchants we currently have and add more.
4. Planning for a FIAT/iCoin exchange --> Long term plan discussed by the team.
5. 9th April iCoin will be represented in a big way at the Crypto Currency Convention in NYC.

What exchange is everyone using now? I havent traded any of my coins yet! As all other coins are on a go slow I thought it's about time I unleash my trading on a new exchange, I do like losing my coins lol

I think Cryptorush is one of the best at the moment.

Cryptorush definitely has the most buyers atm, but is 1/10th of what coinmarket.io was trading some days.

We will push for a larger exchange when there is enough liquidity in the market place.

Yeah, even though cryptorush has the most buyers, people sell way too low.

I haven't sold any on an exchange yet, but out of the current crop, I think I'd go with cryptorush. They seem to be doing the most iCoin volume and are generally a well-regarded exchange.

I just had the opportunity to speak on WGDR Community Radio in Vermont for an uninterrupted 1-hour time slot about Bitcoin, iCoin, cryptocurrencies, and manipulation of monetary systems and precious metals. There were a few hundred listeners tuning in this morning (many of which were not even familiar with Bitcoin) and part of the community tuning in was through a VP chairman of a widely recognized credit union.

The commentary and discussion was fantastic, we will post an archived link as soon as it becomes available!

That is really awesome.
Can't wait to hear it, please let us know.

Would like to listen to it too Smiley

I heard elsewhere that a trusted member of the bitcoin community bought coinpayments. He'll take over at a time TBD and intends to keep it running.

That would be interesting, what would most likely happen is that coinpayments will be hosted outside of the US so it doesn't have to abide to FinCENs rules. It's a real pity as the current
owners of coinpayments ran a clean and honest operation.

From our side I have already made contact with another payment system for iCoin and we should hear back from them by Wednesday.

CryptoAlley has decided to remain open while searching for another payment processor solution. For BTC, LTC, DOGE, and VERT, mitm.io will be the required payment form since it is escrow service, free to both buyer and seller. All other coins will be an offline option which means that buyer and seller exchange info through CryptoAlley messaging system so there is a record of the transaction.

Everything will remain as is at CryptoAlley except that during the transition period listings will need approval to be sure payment options are correct.  It will take a couple days to get this done so please bear with us.

Hey everybody, here is the full update from coinpayments, referred to us by one of our merchants...

Hello username,

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the closure of CoinPayments.net. FinCEN has ruled that Bitcoin is in their purview which would make us a money transmitter. We simply do not have the resources to register with FinCEN and most of the 50 states as a MSB and comply with all of the AML/KYC laws (and no realistic way to raise the funds to do so.)

The shutdown will happen in 3 stages:
1. We will stop accepting new user registrations effective immediately.
2. We will stop processing new transactions at 11:59:59 PM EST on March 24, 2014 (transactions already in progress at that time will be completed).
3. The website will otherwise remain operational until 11:59:59 PM EST on March 31st, 2014 when it will be shut down.

Any refunds due must be requested by the end of March 31st, 2014 and any funds held in your account withdrawn. Keeping the website open for a week from the last new transaction should give everyone ample time to wrap up their affairs in the site.

We extend our sincerest apologies to you and everyone else who has relied on CoinPayments for over 7 months,

Not good. Leave it to the gov to ruin a good thing Angry  Cryptoalley will be shutting down till we can find another payment processor. All user info will be kept so you can pickup where you left off once a processor is found.

We will be exploring other avenues for payment options for iCoin going forward. Will keep you all updated.
