William Entriken is the main author of the ERC721 standard, he is also an advisor to 0xcert.

0xcert is currently the only full implementation of the standard and listed as a reference implementation. You can also play around with our mini app that lets you issue non-fungible tokens - manager.0xcert.org

Judging by the fact that it took ERC20 two years to get finalised, I think the community is very likely to adopt the NFT standard and try to use it for projects and solutions. That is also the reason that we are building conventions for certain niches like identity, academic credentials, etc.

There are definitely other interesting standards like ERC998 for composables for instance. Generally, adoption is critical for any new standard - if people are not using it then it's not a standard.

Thanks for the question! The 0xcert ecosystem is actually one of the more exciting things that we strive to achieve since it really brings the general NFT community together.

The Non-fungible Alliance is still in the making and will be formulated after the ICO. In general, the Alliance will bring together a more wide range of stakeholders around non-fungible tokens. Not just developers, but also corporates, startups and other projects that are working in this area.
