Brazilian football club Avai launches ICO
Brazilian football club Avai Futebol Clube has just announced the launch of its initial coin offering (ICO) with a $ 20 million goal in capital raise.
According to Inside World Football, on September 12, the second division soccer team reported it has just partnered with blockchain firm SportyCo and football investment specialist Blackbridge Sports, in order to carry out its fund raising campaign, becoming yet another sport team recurring to blockchain technology and this crowdfunding modality to fulfill its financing purposes.
“Our goal is to raise $20.46 million US dollars, with a minimum cap of 8 million dollars. A maximum of 20.46 million tokens (93%) valued at $1 will be available for purchase in the Crowdsale. A maximum of 1,540,000 AVAI Tokens (7%) will be retained by Avai FC,” the club stated.
Marko Filej, co-founder of SportyCo, commented that the AVAI token – the name given to the club’s native cryptocurrency – will be used for the acquisition of exclusive merchandise and several other benefits.
“With this initial coin offering we are opening a new chapter in football and the sports industry in general…in the beginning token holders will be able to purchase merchandise, tickets and unique experiences with the token. In the future this will be upgraded,” Filej said.
For his part, the president of the Avaí Futebol Clube Francisco José Battistotti, was pleased with the idea of an ICO for fundraising:

Historia AVAI FC futebol club:
A história do Avaí Futebol Clube teve início em 1923 quando o comerciante Amadeu Horn conheceu um grupo de garotos que costumava jogar bola na Rua Frei Caneca, no bairro Pedra Grande (atual Agronômica), em Florianópolis.
O comerciante, apaixonado por futebol, resolveu realizar o sonho dos meninos e decidiu presenteá-los com um conjunto completo de “ternos” como eram chamados na época os uniformes. O material continha, além de bola e chuteiras, camisetas listradas em azul e branco, calções e meias azuis. Uma curiosidade que talvez alguns torcedores não saibam é que as cores foram escolhidas em homenagem ao Clube de remo, Riachuelo.
Fundação do Avahy Foot-ball Club
No dia 1º de setembro de 1923, em uma reunião na casa do Sr. Amadeu Horn, os jovens atletas decidiram, em conjunto com o comerciante, fundar um clube de futebol. O nome do novo time seria “Independência” e teria como presidente o próprio Sr. Amadeu Horn.
Quando tudo já estava praticamente decidido, o Sr. Arnaldo Pinto de Oliveira chegou à reunião trazendo novas idéias e acabou influenciando os participantes a mudar o nome do time que estava sendo fundado. O argumento do Sr. Arnaldo era que Independência seria um nome complicado para a torcida gritar em apoio ao time e até terminar de falar “Independencia” o outro time já teria empatado o jogo. Como estava lendo um livro sobre a história do Brasil, ele propôs o nome Avahy, em referência à Batalha do Avahy.
Neste momento, todos apoiaram a idéia e começaram a gritar Avahy, Avahy, Avahy! E desta maneira, entusiasmada e convicta, teve início a história cheia vitórias e conquistas do então Avahy Foot-ball Club.
A história do Avaí Futebol Clube teve início em 1923 quando o comerciante Amadeu Horn conheceu um grupo de garotos que costumava jogar bola na Rua Frei Caneca, no bairro Pedra Grande (atual Agronômica), em Florianópolis.
O comerciante, apaixonado por futebol, resolveu realizar o sonho dos meninos e decidiu presenteá-los com um conjunto completo de “ternos” como eram chamados na época os uniformes. O material continha, além de bola e chuteiras, camisetas listradas em azul e branco, calções e meias azuis. Uma curiosidade que talvez alguns torcedores não saibam é que as cores foram escolhidas em homenagem ao Clube de remo, Riachuelo.
Fundação do Avahy Foot-ball Club
No dia 1º de setembro de 1923, em uma reunião na casa do Sr. Amadeu Horn, os jovens atletas decidiram, em conjunto com o comerciante, fundar um clube de futebol. O nome do novo time seria “Independência” e teria como presidente o próprio Sr. Amadeu Horn.
Quando tudo já estava praticamente decidido, o Sr. Arnaldo Pinto de Oliveira chegou à reunião trazendo novas idéias e acabou influenciando os participantes a mudar o nome do time que estava sendo fundado.
