what about data in google drive like photos and videos of huge size like a terabyte ?

You have to ask yourself, would a company be interested in this Data? If the answer is yes, than you can probably sell it.

you would be selling the rights to use the photos, so if you see your face on a commercial don't be surprised.
Not directly sell data, but there is a case about this in the whitepaper.
Quote
To allow humanitarian and other legitimate projects access to the data, these can register as projects. The user clients shows currently running projects requesting data  access and users can control whether to give access or not based on their decision.  An example could information from digital health devices to medical institutions and researchers, or IoT devices in case of accidents such as natural disasters.
But about photos and videos, if any company wants to buy such data and someone wants to sell it, then why not?

Datum - this is Canadian company? Or where they based?

They are based in Switserland.
Not so easy tot start with an ICO there because of the strickt policies against ICO's. But Datum did it Wink

Actually, it is important for me which country is ico based on. I don't want to name any country but some have very legal gaps. But Switzerland is a country  you can trust Smiley

yes switzerland is very good for ICOs and personal privacy also
and the Tezos ico was also based in switzerland Smiley

And this is why I'm convinced that investing in this project is worth taking risks associated with ico  Wink

The swiss rules are too harsh to start an ICO and if someone is starting from Swiss then it means they have good documentation and the venture is legal.

Three co-founders of Datum are Swiss. Lead developers (Roger, Florian) are both Swiss. As such, it was normal to launch as a Swiss entity and abide by the Swiss regulations. They are tough or difficult, however - the rules are there for a reason.

There are 17 people in the team right now, and the number is growing. We will do things right, even if that means it takes us more time. Datum will be here in 5 years, 10 years and who knows how are we evolve as a service. One thing's certain though - this journey is very exciting (and sometimes frustrating).

Just checked the Datum demo again.

https://demo.datum.org

I was wondering how will you store the data? In Europe there are a lof of new regulations regarding privacy and I was wondering how Datum will comply with this.

The download link for the DEMO version in the App Store is inaccessible.

You can tru the live version in the webpage it gives you an idea as well of what they are after Smiley

Excellent question and it is one that must be answered both legally (as in, they have to implement it in a compliant way) and in this thread so that we know it is safe.

I wonder what kind of servers will they use for that, and what kind of securities, its important data and hackers will want to get it, too much raw data in there, unless of course its in the blockchain, which is probably how it will be encrypted, so hackers will have to get the keys for that, still possible, but incredibly difficult.

That's really a good questions. As it is handled in countries and zones like Europe differently, there can't be just one way for all. But on the other side Facebook also faced this problems years ago and they managed this.
