The article is interesting, although I do not agree with this at all. Very interesting article, I never saw it in this thread before.
Vitalik seems to be really convinced in the possibility of extending lifespan and interested in the actual research.
I would not be surprised if he would also invest in eHealth.

I think it's wise to use Ethereum in the beginning and then maybe later to switch to other blockchain or to create their own.

I don't see a problem in the ETH Blockchain at current state if it fits for their needs. Ethereum is getting regular updates and they develop and improve the blockchain constantly, so it should be fine. If needed, they always could make a swap later but I don't think this is needed at current state.

I agree. Ethereum is working on the scaling problem. The alternative is to have an independent and small blockchain that would have different problems.

Not just different problems but also it is more cost intensive to program a complete new blockchain from zero. So if there is no need for an own blockchain they should stick with the Ether-Blockchain in my opinion.

I think they go with their own blockchain in particular graphite because they have particular needs, i remember in the whitepaper there is something about it, and graphite is already in use in other project like steemit

But in most times they use it as advantage to push the project and interest. Everyone wants to have as much information to rate the project. Then it doesn't make sense not to communicate and rumors will apply.
