You arent running the daemon....  Run electroneumd.exe and let it sync.  once its done it will say you can now open the wallet client.

How the hell do you get these coins off the website?

That's actually a pretty good guide to do.  It is a little on the technical side, but thats how a lot of cryptos are.  Im stuck with the paper wallet until I get home so you aren't the only one not moving coin around.  Be patience, good sir.
