I agree but there is a fine line between censorship and snuffing out the lowlifes that live to ruin other peoples day. Moderation is a better term than censorship in these circumstances.
Such problem exists in all social networks, at places where going discourses about politics, religion, or history there always will be individuals who will try to hook up and provoke another by imposing their version of the truth.

yep happens everywhere. it's up to the moderation team to discuss and implement a cohesive policy.
Sure, there should be a kind of censorship in this network. However, the devs have to be cautious in terms of not being out of line in this stuff.
Sphere is certainly the kind of project that requires continuous work, in all stages of Ico and after it, Team seems to me aware of realizing a platform that covers the failures of today's networks, surely it is necessary to include ways to inhibit harmful behavior to other

Of course, censorship will have to be dealt with even in such a decentralized social network as the Sphere. Perhaps they could impose it on users. For example, a kind of dislike from the information, when a certain limit is reached, this information marked with dislike should be checked for compliance with the rules. Although this scheme also has drawbacks.
I also think that moderation is better than cersorship. I think censorship should only be in the most extreme cases.
Of course, but as for me, moderation is just a particular case of censorship in this case. Moreover, the latter can be done automatically, and for moderation we need people who will perform it.
You are right. I think we will need a system, where a content will be blocked, if 51 % of the users voted to block it. So you can avoid censorship from only a few privileged members.
Very interesting idea! A kind of controlling body that will monitor the information flow will be the users themselves! It's just brilliant.

But this can also lead to censorship of things the majority doesn't like. I think they should not concentrate that much on it.

thats a good point. I think also it’s also one of the key features of the blockchain, if SPHERE can ensure a good level of data privacy, the project will be huge.

The plain truth is that moderation is a form of censorship. ie. you are still censoring what you deem inappropriate. There are certain things that should be censored (eg. Sexually explicit things, excessive gore), but what should never be censored is ideas. Unfortunately, the latter has been censored by the ideologically left by labelling it has hatespeech.
What about when someone is insulting other users or even is  threatening them?
Ignore/block button ofcourse, iam really sure they will provide it, no reason to not.
I do not rule out the fact that inadequate people feeling freedom in their actions will not only threaten but also much more, but do not miss the moment that such persons are everywhere!

Just look on this forum. It was pretty laissez-faire, but only up to the point where the amount of spam got unmanageable. Even with the merit system 99% of the posts are mindless drivel.

Everything is good in moderation.

They released yestarday Web App. Anyone tried this already? What inplession? This is a full version or beta only?

https://medium.com/@sphereofficial/website-version-of-sphere-app-available-bae380e548a9
Oh good, I will try it and compare.
I wanted to register, but happen error. I conclude that this is only sketch of the platform, well let's wait when web version can be launched - I would like to test it's. By the way, good idea for developers - it would be nice to announce contest of testers with rewards - this can help eliminate bugs.

The rewards test system is really enjoyable for both parties and usually brings returns in relation to Platform improvements, it would be great to be close to it. There are many changes to be made to Test Platforms, always with the support of the Community, and reviews are always welcome

yes i think it would be the best solution without the intervention of moderators but only with the vote of the users, if it proves 51% the content will be blocked automatically...

ONe Social Network.
The important thing is that they reached a good amount to start with. About development the important thing is to develop a good platform AFTER ICO

For a beta its quite good. I like it more than the android-app, because you can see more, its clearer.
But the search function has to be improved, I want to look for people in my country. Smiley

I was surprised to see that they launched beta for browser so soon, didn't expect it. Did they do some promotion before, some ads? It should speed up the ICO.

That is a good idea but will be very hard to implement especially when the subscriber community grows by the millions. I think there should be an easy way to do just like that censorship thing. Smiley

It can be done so that if the number of views of certain information reaches, for example, 10,000 views and has 51% dislike, then this information is checked for compliance with the rules. If there are no violations, then the information remains in the social network.
I like this idea. The majority of users are to decide if it's ok with some moral rules and common sense. Moreover, this may be easily done automatically
