Hello! Here is an update on the Token Report product roadmap from the company's VP of Technology, Gary MacDougall

https://medium.com/tokenreport/token-report-product-update-2018-week-1-34ee35b50db8

Token Report Product Update, 2018 Week 1

Happy New Year!

In my last post, I outlined our road map for the next 45 days. As I mentioned, I’ll be doing periodic updates on our progress and on new features we’re releasing in our products at Token Report.

We’re well on our way to releasing our Token Liquidity Signal, tracking listings, delistings and volume momentum on cryptocurrency exchanges, and delivering alerts to our users. Kyle Gibson wrote a quick progress update, earlier this week, showing an internal test of the feature.

We’ll have it integrated by Jan. 15 for beta users of Token Clarity, our Telegram-based message bot for alerts and searches related to cryptocurrency tokens. (The bot is in free beta right now; you can sign up at www.tokenreport.com/sign-up.)

As we started 2018 at Token Report, I was reminded about how truly globalized ICOs are by reading a fascinating post by my colleague, Seline Jung, who wrote 2017: The Year ICOs Re-Drew the World VC Map, highlighting that ICOs are truly global in nature.

We’re keeping track of where each project is based, and we have now integrated that geo tagging so users of Token Clarity can see it.

It’s truly amazing to see just how global things are when you can now search in Token Clarity for a token or keyword, then see immediately their GEO Tag. For example, I searched for “exchange” and got results from Spain, Canada and Finland.

Drilling down into a project we also GEO tag, so if you know the ticker or click on the symbol of the ICO in Clarity, it will also show it’s locale using the GEO flag emoji. Simple, but very effective.

Conclusion

As you can see a simple feature like this can really help you understand more about a project and it’s geography without really having to dig into their white paper or head to their Web site. Simple but effective. That’s really what we’re always trying to do — provide you with the best possible insight you can get, quickly and effectively.

Once we release our liquidity signal, we have two more trading signals to add: a Sale Momentum Signal and a Forum Signal. We’re making progress faster than expected on tracking activity in cryptocurrency forums, so that feature will probably be released earlier than its planned Feb. 15 release date. Sale Momentum is proving more challenging: We are indexing our Ethereum node to make our queries more efficient.

I’ll have more to say about that shortly in my next post so stay tuned!

One last thing, I’d love to hear about some of your ideas or needs as it pertains to ICO investing and what information you’d like to be getting. Find me in our forum on Telegram, where my handle is @BostonAccent.

I’ve heard that the project is going to attract other blockchain projects ... Tell me, which ones?

Hey Yi,

thanks for sharing your report, as one of the founders of REALISTO i feel your report is sadly not as in depth as it should and could be (especially since you plan to charge people 225 USD to read it after your ICO).
We really love to concept of an independent Token Reporting Page like you are proposing in your ICO but especially then you should provide people with quality work and actual in-depth research.
To further explain my point, it seems you misunderstood our concept and our goals by a long shot. Feel free to reach out so we can clarify the points from your report which are a misrepresentation.

Best wishes
Leonard from REALISTO

Thanks for your note, Leonard. The one-sheet you viewed is just one of many kinds of information we provide inside Token Clarity. For example, on projects like yours that have drawn user interest, we keep track of changes to team, terms and token. If you add a paragraph to your white paper or remove an advisor from your website, our users will know. Smiley  You can sign up for our beta offering, here: http://tokenreport.com/pricing.html.

If you spot a factual error or an omission, please let me know personally: [email protected].

Hi everyone! We recently pushed back the date of our crowdsale and revised the terms of our presale. In a nutshell: We're not doing a SAFT in the presale, instead we're selling tokens directly to buyers; the crowdsale will take place in January and we're planning to set it up as a descending auction. Details here: https://medium.com/tokenreport/a-simpler-approach-to-presales-f4596ee77de2

Where will your tokens trade?

Hi! We have conversations with multiple exchanges about using our data service, but we will not seek to list the token until after our ICO.

Please join our forum if you have any other questions!

Hi everyone,

Great news! We got featured on Bloomberg today.
Out of the 100 top ranked coins according to Coinmarketcap, 65 issued an ICO, 75% of them had a medium or high risk of being regulated as securities. Bloomberg picked our regulatory risk analysis here: https://www.bloombergquint.com/business/2017/11/06/three-fourth-of-digital-tokens-are-riskier-than-you-realized

For more information on Token Report's regulatory risk score check out our blog post: https://medium.com/tokenreport/the-token-clarity-private-beta-is-here-7958d32e6da5

Thoughts and comments?

Enjoy Cool

Hi everyone! Feds recently charged Maksim Zaslavskiy, founder of real-estate backed ICO for fraud. What are your thoughts on the credibility of an ICO that promise a product without fully transparent evidence? Take a look at this article: http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20171101/TECHNOLOGY/171109990/feds-charge-brooklyn-man-with-fraud-over-cryptocurrency-offering

Here is Token Report's latest blog post: https://medium.com/tokenreport/which-icos-are-scams-how-we-dig-into-this-oft-fuzzy-question-f7843be67ea7

Hmmm okay. What if a high rated ICO became a scam? (like devs left the project, and endless reasons for the exit scam) and Token Clarity subscriber already invested their money on it. Will the Token report be liable on their subscribers that is paying them monthly? Will you pay them back or give compensation? It's just a scenario that I could think of and I think it's not impossible to happen, right? I want to know what TR will respond on problem like this in the future.

I think it would be more interesting if we did the opposite: We rate a project high risk and you pass on it, only to find out you could have made a ton of money on the deal. We pay you the gains you missed.   Smiley

But, then we would be in the insurance business...or the bookmaking business. So we don't do that. Instead, we're providing financial research and specifically staying away from buy sell hold recommendations. Our Risk Score is nearly 100% fact based, and for those components of it where we've had to make a judgment call, we are strictly transparent about the decisions we make. For example, not everyone agrees that securities regulation is a high risk factor. We think it is. So, you can weight our factors based on your own judgment. Bottom line: Token Clarity is designed to inform the diligent investor and put information at her fingertips that she can use to make a decision.

Hello, is there any video that shows how the token clarity beta run? I think people/future investors wants to see the pre product of this project before riding in. ( if there is, it seems I'm having a trouble finding it) #edit oh i see, there is some snapshots on the introductory video.

So what I understand is, the token report(tracker?) only shows the directory of all ICO's while for the clarity it gives realtime recommended ICO with the addition of your ratings/scores. Is that right? Is there a possibility that a scam ICO can be listed on the token report?

Hello, thanks very much for the question. At the moment, there is a brief demo on the home page of our website that shows how Token Clarity works on Telegram, as well as in our introductory video as you discovered.

Token Tracker is our free ICO listing of every ICO in our database that is currently live or upcoming. We aim to list as many as we can find, and in our listing process our researchers do a general screening to ensure an ICO is not a scam. While we don't aim to list scam ICOs, but there's that possibility that one could end up having some problems that we discover later on in the research process.

In Token Clarity, we also do ICO updates if we discover scam allegations or if an ICO was canceled/disappeared off the grid. So we keep track of this information as well.

Hope this clears it up. Let us know if you have any more questions - our Telegram forum's a great place for that. Smiley

Thanks for the follow up, you bring up an important point. We do not provide investment advice, and nothing published by Token Report constitutes an offer or recommendation to buy or sell a financial instrument or asset - therefore, we accept no liability for losses arising from the publication of this information. You can see our full disclaimer of liability in our white paper here: http://tokenreport.com/assets/white-paper-v2.pdf.

We believe that our information is obtained from reliable sources, but as you may know it is impossible to completely guarantee its accuracy in this world of ICOs! Thankfully, so far we have not seen any cases in our research process in which an ICO we had taken seriously turned out to be a scam or a fake project.

I'm enjoying how much discussion of other ICOs and token products is happening right now in our forum. That's common, but I think there's more of it than normal in our forum. I hope to see more still. We are a meta-ICO.
