You are right. Initially I was also confused how they cover gas transaction costs which, when calculated, is not small amount. After visiting the https://fundraiser.universalcoin.io , and reading a bit, it becomes more understandable and clear

My sentiments exactly. I am following this project because I think it has true potential and there is obviously no risk for the users and only insight and potential money to make from it.

I am not from Universal team, but there is a fundraiser to cover for distribution of token. In general there are 40 distributions in total, and 1 has happened, and 39 remaining. Here is the email I got:
